View Full Version : Bride & Groom Apples
I hosted a shower for my MOH this weekend. We used chocolate covered bride and groom apples for centerpieces. I didn't get a picture, but they looked like this.

They were a huge hit. Everybody loved them. They were very impressive and still very cost effecient. We put a set on each table on a pretty glass cake pedestal. I just wanted to share this idea with all of you DIY queens!

That is so adorable!! Did you make them yourself? I bet it was hard! If not, how did you come up with that idea?

Cute - they remind me of chocolate covered strawberries. What does apple & chocolate taste like; good combo?

Those are adorable. I am putting them in my favorites. I don't know what I can use them for, but hopefully I'll find something.

Those are adorable... What a wonderful idea. :whoohoo:
I actually don't remember how I came up with the idea, but I did make them myself. They were a pain in the butt, actually. Totally worth it though. The shape of the apple is just more difficult to make look like a tux than a strawberry. The bride was super easy, but the groom just took more time. I had to wash off several of the grooms and do them over again so that I could get it just right. I'm a perfectionist, what can I say? They were quite tasty too! You can even cover it in caramel and then do the chocolate layers.

Ok now I am drooling!
My SIL made chocolate covered oreos on a stick for a back yard bbq. They were so cute!
Take a double stuffed oreo, put it on a stick and dunk it in melted chocolate. Then dip the cookie into coloured sprinkles. Attach paper leaves to the stick. Stick your flowers into a flower pot (with florists foam in the bottom).
Here is another way to make flowers - Attach coloured marshmallows to edges of cookie pop to form a flower, using chocolate to hold marshmallows in place. Repeat with remaining cookies and marshmallows. Refrigerate until set.
And another way -
