Actually it was the wedding of an Indian steel tycoon's daughter. It was held in France so they could have a big party in Versailles with 1500 guests.
Here's an article about it.

There is no point in spending that much money on a wedding. We didn't even spend $10,000 and I can't even imagine spending a dollar more than what we did, there was no reason to. Jeez, if I had $60 mil, I would be buying cars, a house, and stuff like that! Lol.

Well it WAS with 1500 guests AND it WAS in Versailles - they actually rented the palace and gardens....
Was also somewhat of a "political" move for her father I guess...

Holy poo! I can't even imagine owning half of that.. Or even a quarter. O.o; What a waste of money. If they wanted to throw it away, they could have at least helped someone in need or something. =P You can't tell me you know 1500 people, lol.

I can understand how with 1500 people it was that much, especially considering where she had it. personally, i would do it but only if it could be done MY way- not my daddys (which im sure hers was done his way since it was all HIS clients and friends- he probably made sure it was a certain way) Mine would have been a couple day event renting out the most grand place and THEN a nighclub for my friends- thats fun!! :)

It was a six day bash, so $10 million a day 0-0. I imagine it was marvelous but SHEESH!

Thats a whole lot of money! When you're that wealthy spending that much is probably the same as spending several thousand.

I read an interview in a magazine, and apparantly his daughter means the world to him and she did have a say in how the day would be... Apparantly she wanted to get married in France, so he did it - all the way!

glad she got a say in it.
some people money does not matter.
i work with someone and the wedding she went to the girl changed like 5 times. I dont want to know how much that wedding cost. but her dad was high up and very important.
another wedding she attened also the flowers alone were 10k, again i dont want to know how much that wedding cost.
I wish I just had 10-20k sitting here and not worrying about my wedding or honeymoon. More like the honeymoon. I think the wedding is covered well most of it. I really would love to vacation in Hawaii or Aust for our honeymoon but I dont see that happening

I don't think I know 1500 people that were "close" enough to us to have had that many guests at our wedding...Even if I was an oil tycoon or my father was I say invest it in my kids college fund!! I'll take my 7 grand budget wedding any day!
