I just laugh when I see our big pumpkin and our baby pumpkin. I really like our orange lights too. Decorating for Halloween is so much fun!

awww love that!!!! i want to decorate our pumpkin but halloween always invokes sadness in me so i usually do it the last minute.

I'm afraid to carve ours now because I worry they'll rot by Halloween. (Heard it was a bad crop this year because it was so warm so late into the season or something.) :( Slim pickings at the pumpkin patches, and I live in IL which grows about 25% of the nation's supply!

We bought a huge spider and web last night. We're going to put it on our front door, hehehe! I think we have enough decorations now!

We carved our pumpkins too!! We got ours from my dad, he grows them (not like a huge patch or anything, he usually gets like 20 total or so)

Everyone should show pictures after they carve theirs :)

Awesome pumpkins!

Since it's so hot down here I normally wait until the day of Halloween to carve mine. Last year, I carved it the night before and used vaseline to coat all the cuts and it seemed to prevent the pumpkin from drying out. But its difficult coating tiny areas and worrying about messing up the tiny delicate pieces. I ended up with areas that had shrieveled since I didn't apply the vaseline as well as I thought I did. I know there are products you could buy that perserves the pumpkin for a long time but I haven't tried them. I always have a hard time choosing a pattern to do, so waiting gives me more time to decide.

This is my favorite time of year because carving pumpkin always makes me think about how Jon asked me to marry him. This was our last year's pumpkins:
