So because of our honeymoon mess up that many of you know about, we have $600 in frontier airlines credit. Well from where we live we have to fly to Denver no matter what before we can fly anywhere else, so we want to go west of Denver (because we don't want to like fly from Chicago to Denver to Boston...) Anyways, we were going to go to Phoenix and visit the grand canyon and stuff, but recently we decided we might go to Vegas instead.
So my question is... Have any of you been to Vegas? What are some fun things to do there? *I will be a few months shy of 21, so we can only go into clubs that allow people under 21 in. But we don't wanna be with a bunch of teens. Matt is 22 and I'll be close to 21. I also can't go into the casinos because of my age. BUT we do want to see some shows and things like that. And maybe go to a few clubs or something that let me in. Maybe some of the bars allow you to be in if you are over 18, just not by alcohol?
We have looked some stuff up about what we can do there, but what have you guys heard about it?
We are either going to stay at the Excaliber or the Imperial Palace (I think those are the names).

i dont know about what clubs let you in if you are not 21, so i am no help there
but vegas is fun! there is so much to do and see without drinking or gambling.
I didnt see any shows when i was there. When I went it was a girl weekend that didnt end very well.....so we didnt do a lot, but i made the most of it and had a blast anyways plus it was my frist time there (and everyone else has been there like a million times it seemed like)
I am sure if you go to vegas.com or other website it will tell you what clubs you can get into and shows.
Good Luck and you will have a blast!!!

vegas is fun if your 21 but i went before i was 21 and ihated it! Why not make a bday trip out of it and make it your 21st trip :)
Just a suggestion. even if your not a drinker or partier or gambler, which im not, its so much fun to get the full effect of the whole city!
JMO- i know even some comedy clubs make you be 21 if your going after 8pm-

We'll we wouldn't be gambling/drinking really anyways even if I was 21, but we want to still experience vegas by going to shows and such. We can't make it a birthday trip, because we have a week open in March (and the prices are cheaper), and we will both be getting new jobs sometimes hopefully soon after graduation and we probably won't be able to just get a week off, I wouldn't dare ask for a week off in the first few months of a job. My birthday is in June. And I'm sure it is way stinking hot there in June haha
BUT we are dorks and want to visit like things like the M&M place (which woohoo is free to get in) hehe I'm sure its not that spectacular. But we're dorks and like stuff like that.
So do you guys think Vegas is a good place to visit without drinking or gambling? If not where would you suggest we use our flight credit to? We need to go to the West, mostly west of Denver or around that area.
We stayed at Imperial Palace when we went to Vegas. It was a nice hotel. There is alot of stuff to see. Just the size and amount of detail each hotel have is unreal! If you want to drive off the strip a bit, Lake Mead is only about an hour away, they have boat tours. Also, Valley of Fire (state park) is out there. I heard that is really nice.

Ok I went to Vegas when I was 17 and it was NOT boring. Some shows do not allow you in unless you are 21, and its difficult to even walk through the casino if you are not 21... HOWEVER, if you still want to get the fill of Vegas, you can rent a car and drive to Hoover Dam, which is super close.. You can go up the stratosphere and ride the rides, you can go to New York New York and ride the roller coaster, go shopping in the hotels, eat the GREAT Food, go to "Paris" and see the tower... You can go to the Mirage and see the fountains, Pirates hotel and see the pirate show, the volcano outside the MGM . We stayed at the Excaliber which was the castle hotel and it was awesome. Underneath was a carnival, where they had games like at a carnival and we had the best time (My brother and I)
So I highly recommend it actually even though you are not 21, there is SO much to do.. You just have to pick and choose which would allow you to go in. It kinda is hard, but there is soooo much to see. I also recommend going to look at the animals in the rainforest hotel. (Forgot name) They have dolphin encounters and you can see the white tigers they use for Sigfried and Roy (Not sure if they do that anymore) But look into it on Vegas.com and see what else there is. Its great great great fun!

Thanks guys! That helps, I'm glad that there are two people who have stayed at either of the hotels we are looking at, so at least we know both are good.
I'm excited to see the fountains, and to find fun things like that carnival, and maybe to check out lake mead
Any other suggestions? Anyone found any hidden cool things in vegas?

Ryan and I just went last weekend here's a link to some of the pics of stuff we did:

Of gambling I lost exacatly 1 dollar in the airport as we left (neither one of us are gamblers). We still want to go pack and take a look at all the free stuff the hotels have (the fountains at the Belagio weren't goign because of the winds and we didn't go to a lot of other shows because we were so tired from ther stuff).
There are only about 70ish pictures in the album, but we took over 700 pics (I went crazy at the Valley of Fire and took like 300 myself there).
The cactus garden is by the Ethel M Chocolate Factory (which wasn't running by the time we got there though).

awesome pictures firespirit
Makes me want to go back and do more sightseeing. When i went the girls didnt want to go out of the strip (we went to the old part of the strip though) but they didnt want to rent a car or anything. I thought it would have been cool to see all the other stuff as well.
