View Full Version : Centerpiece Idea
Hi Ladies,
Just an idea if some of you are on a tight budget. Here is a flower box center piece that you could make yourself. I tried one for fun...it turned out nice and was pretty easy to make. Very cheap too!!! Give me a minute to try and figure out how to post pick (sorry I am still new at this)!!!!

No, no..do you have the picture somewhere on the internet? Right click on it and go to Properties...You will see the URL, copy that and then come into a post and click on the yellow "mountain" icon and paste the address in the box and hit okay. It will put the pic directly in the post.

I love that. You do need to figure out how to tell us how you mad eit. Girls at work think I should use cowboy hats filled with flowers as center pieces. Seeing it is gonna have a little bit of counrty mised into it. What do you think?

That is a nice flower box! That would make a great centerpiece.
Gwen cowboy hats would be cool! You could get the smaller ones for kids and then after the reception give them to the kiddies. I like it, it would fit your theme perfectly!!;)
Hey Ladies,
I will find the actual instructions for this soon. My guess is...you can buy wooden boxes already pre-fabbed (probably at a dollar store/craft store), paint them. Then use that foam used for flowers, insert fresh or fake flowers of your choice. If they are fresh flowers, remember to wet foam and then refridgorate. When I find it again, I'll post instructions.
The cowboy hat idea is cute also. Not sure where you could buy them for cheap!

Hey Ladies, Here are the instructions how to make those centerpieces! It sounds pretty easy and cheap!!!

Materials
• Votive Candle Holders (I chose the flower pot style and purchased them for ½ price during a recent sale at Michael's for only $0.49 ea) You will need 4 per centerpiece
• Candles for the holders (In the picture, I used tealights because that is what I had available. We will be using votive candles so that they last the whole night.)
• Wooden strawberry quart (These were donated. Someone found them in a barn.)
• Red spray paint (or whatever colour works for your wedding)
• Ribbon
• Glue gun
• 6" Plastic florist sleeve (to hold the oasis / florist foam)
• 1/3 of a brick of oasis / florist foam (pre soaked)
• Fresh cut flowers (I used red roses, yellow daisies, green leaves, baby's breath)
• Scissors
• One mirrored square per centerpiece (not shown)
Directions
Place one candle in each candle holder and set aside.
Take the wooden strawberry quart and paint. Set aside to dry.
Once dry, using small drops of glue, attach the ribbon around the quart.
Tie the ends of the ribbon into a bow.
Take the 6" plastic florist sleeve and trim top edge to fit quart. Leave it about ½ inch from the top of quart.
Take the pre soaked oasis / florist foam and insert in the plastic sleeve.
Trim the green so that the stems aren't too long. You want the stem to sit in the foam and the green to hang over the edge of the quart.
Place the green around the edge of the foam.
Place the flowers in the top.
Use more green and baby's breath to fill spaces between the flowers.\
Place the centerpiece on a mirrored square in the center of the table and place four votive lit candles around it.
You can really control the cost of the fresh cut flowers depending on the type of flower you choose and on how much greenery you use.
Thats sound unique i like you could give lucky horse shoes as favours

That's really pretty, the colors are very vibrant.
Wanna see a pic of my centerpieces? It's 3 large martini glasses, the 2 smaller ones have floating candles, the largest has flowers. The one in the picture is not exactly what we will have. In the actual one there will be less greenery and more flowers.

Hey Shawna,
I love your centerpieces! What a unique idea. I think they will look very classy! And the candles will be a nice compliment to this. Please post some pics for us....after the wedding.:) I am sure that everyone would love to see!
