I was married at 18 out of highschool, had my 1st son at 21, then my last son at 24. My 2 boys are now 26 & 29. Holy Cow! My younger son was married last year on the 17th, found out she was pregnant of the 18th, then they left for the honeymoon on the 19th. That was one heck of a weekend. I'm a grandma of a little girl. She's the greatest! When my son was married last year I decided to write the song for our mother son dance. You can see us on Youtube dancing to it for the 1st time. As you can see I didn't make it too far before I cried & cried. My 2 sons are really good men & hard workers. I'm proud of them both. My youngest is a good dad & husband. I love my daughter in law also. My husband has been great even though were opposites. He's conservative & I have 4 tatoos. Oh well!

I wish it was me singing. I hired two different sings for each version. We are dancing to the traditional version. There is also a country version. I didn't want to cry all day so I didn't mess up the pictures. But I couldn't help it when we danced. The still pictures look worse than the video. My nose & face is red & not very becoming. Ha!

Cool ... so you write the lyrics and the music and then have someone record them? Sorry, I might not have had enough coffee yet but I still trying to figure out exactly how your biz works LOL
Do you take requests? My inlaws will be celebrating their 50th anniversary next year ..... and for once, I am thinking ahead :)
What a neat song. I'm impressed with the lyrics. You did a nice job.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I never knew when I started to write songs that I would touch so many hearts. The emails I receive are very emotional & sincere. I read them & I cry & cry. They are just mothers expressing how they feel about thier son & his new bride. Thanks again.

I am using that song for my fiance and his mother. My DJ is saying that he doesn't have the song, here's what I say: "Buy the FRIGGEN CD!!!" My FMIL really wants the song, and I am paying the guy enough darn money.

It's funny that you mention that about your DJ. They get very angry with me that I don't do downloads. My business is selling CD's & not downloads. There are many, many original wedding songs that are sold on CD's & not downloads. They tell me they don't like the way I run my business. Then I get the DJ's that bend over backwards for their clients & have paid $30-$60 for the CD with overnight UPS. Apparently your DJ has had enough notice & that he ordered it for you. Most of my customers are the family that keeps the CD as a memory of the song & the wedding. I also sell 2 CD's per person, 1 for the mom & 1 for the son or 1 for the father & 1 for the daughter. I guess you can't please everyone. I hope you FH & his mom really enjoy the song.

Grrr...He actually WONT buy the CD. He has said "I wans't able to obtain the CD for your wedding..." (What the hell, Ill give you the **** site, just buy it!!)
I have offered to buy the CD, and give it to him to keep. He hasn't gotten back to me about this. I wouldn't see why it would be a big deal. My FMIL REALLY wants this song at the wedding. And darnet, she better get it.

I get many moms & brides who are really upset on Thurs or Fri & find out that the DJ doesn't have the CD when they told them they do. They end up paying for express shipping. The problem is the DJ blames it on me & there is no reason for it. You are right, you pay him good $ & expect him to have the song. It's not like he has to buy it over & over. One purchase & he has it for ever. I believe that's why the family buys it & they just keep it as a memory of the day. I had some moms that bought the CD & then the DJ wanted to copy it. Their response was NO, go buy it yourself. I thanked them & thought good for you. They know it's how I make a living & $10.00 is not a whole lot of money. It's probable the least expensive part of the wedding. Good luck with your wedding!

Thanks again. The day of my son's wedding I took the CD with me & gave it to the DJ. I didn't know at that time I was going to be selling the CD to the public. My intention was to write a song for my son & that was it. This is my son & I dancing to the song for the 1st time at his wedding. I didn't cry all day cuz I didn't want to ruin all the pictures but dancing with him made the tears flow from the whole day, I was a mess.
