First Dance Song

:whoohoo: OK I must be having a blonde moment, but I have been searching this forum to find first dance song threads....

I was just wondering what everyone's first dance song was and how you came to have that song as your song....

If anyone finds a thread that pertains to something like this please let me... I got frustrated and wasn't able to find anything....

My FH and I are in the process of trying to decided... last night we came up with fours songs and all have special meaning but we can't decided

These are our contenders....

1. "Amazed" Lonestar
2. "Its your love" Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
3. "You belong" Faith Hill
4 "Livin' our love song" Michael Carroll

Just wondering what songs you ladies had or are having and how to came to the conclusion to have it.... :heart:

Our first dance song was " God Bless the Broekn Road " by Rasdal Flatts, then right after that one I dedicated a song to my husband it was Ann Murrays " Can I Have This Dance ". I didn't knwo it at the time but my ex step dad told me that that was his and my moms song.

We're an odd sort so for our first dance (beings we'll all be in the fluffy 18th century style fashion) we plan on putting on something classical, then a few moments in having it break into "Rock Me Amadeus" and getting our BMs and GM to drag others out onto the floor. Muahaha!

"Once in a Blue Moon" by Van Morrison.

Here's why- Jon proposed to me outside under the blue moon- the only one of 2007. Since that means a lot to us, we wanted to somehow incorporate it into our wedding. When we heard this song, we knew it was the one!

Originally we were going with "Better Together" by Jack Johnson, but FH heard "Love of my Life" by Michael W. Smith and knew it had to be our first dance song.

I'd also considered "Tupelo Honey" by Van Morrison... beautiful song...

Our first dance was Martina McBride "My Valentine." We had a hard time picking a song since there really wasn't a song through out our relationship that we considered ours. But I found this one listed on a music site (so sorry, I can't remember the site for the life of me!) and thought it was perfect seeing out first date was Valentine's Day.

Who would have thought Van Morrison whould make such awesome wedding songs???

Ours is "I'll be your lover too" by Van Morrison. I wanted to do Michael Buble or Michael O'Brien which are "newer" but he would not have of it. Since I would not let him do Pearl Jam ~ we compromised!

I think ours is going to be "For Once in my Life" - its been recorded by a whole bunch of people, the one we're leaning to know is the Jackie Wilson version. Although, I'm totally partial to the Stevie Wonder version.....

Our first dance was by Frozen Ghost and it was titled "Dream Come True". It's a song from the late 80's early 90's. It just fit us perfectly. It was actually always one of my favorite songs and it just so happend to fit who we are together.
Our last dance "Stairway to Heaven" lol Kevina nd I though everyone would get a kick out of that as it used to close all the school dances back in the day.
