I hope everybody is have a wonderful day!! I had a question about photoshop I can't figure out how to use the paintbucket tool.. Lol this is probably the stupidest question, but I just can't get it to color only one thing. Like in this picture I can't figure out how to only get their dresses colored pink and not everything else.. I'm sorry is this is the stupidest question but I've been driving myself crazy

Here is how I do that effect.
-Open the colored version in Photoshop
-On the top menu bar, Select layer-> Duplicate layer
-Convert to black and white, Enhance-> Convert to black and white.(It will only convert the top layer)
-Use the eraser tool to erase any part that you want color showing through. It will leave everything b&w except for what you "erase"
When using the eraser to do this, I usually set the opacity to lower than 100%, sometimes 45-60%, so the colors are softer and you can't see the rough edges of where you erased.
Hope that helps, good luck!

You can also try to trace/select the part you want colored and do a "color" fill for that selection.
If you are starting with a color image you can select only the part that you want to be color then "Invert selection" and desaturate the rest.
ETA - Here is one I did this way -

Good luck, have fun :)

Hmm not sure on the newest versions of Photoshop, I run off an old one that came with my grandfather's digi cam. It has a "hand color" option. So if I just one say, one color. I turn the image to black and white and then hand shade the areas with a light pastel color.
