I have mentioned before how I have allergies; it is pretty much all year around now. Some days are better than others, sometimes I don't even have to take anything, while other times I am poppin pills all day and still miserable. And I don't really know what all I am allergic too.
DH complains off and on that I snore at night, he says it is not like a normal snore, but it bothers him enough that he can't sleep right. I sort of feel bad about this, but he snores sometimes too and I don't say anything, it just doesn't bother me.
Anyway, I know when I snore it is related to my allergies, but I don't know what to do about it. I have tried just about every OTC allergy med there is; most don't really work, and the ones that do don't last like they are suppose to.
I have been to an allergist a couple of times too; tried several prescription meds, pills and nasal spray, they don't work well either.
Any suggestions?

I am assuming that you maybe have tried those strips that go on the outside of your nose??? I have heard that they work for some.
Luckily I can sleep standing up next to a tree ... so when my FH snores... it does not even bother me! I guess if it gets really bad you should go to a doc. and maybe they can tell you what to do or how to correct it.
Sorry honey~wish I could be more help!

The last time I went to the allergist and he actually asked if I snored, but he didn't offer anything to help. He just said if we can get the allergies under control then the snoring will stop. He also mentioned it might have something to do with me having my adenoids removed as a child.
I haven't tried those breathe right strips, I have thought about it but wondered if they would work for allergy related snoring :bbconfused:

Have you tried cleaning out your sinus cavities with a neti pot? It looks and sounds really gross...but from what I hear, they work wonders.

I think you can buy them at like Walgreens or Akins...those kinds of places.
I have a friend who does it everynight now...she swears by it. I've been wanting to try it, but haven't gotten off my butt to go get one. If you try it, let me know. :hi:

I was going to suggest those breath right strips also. I ahve used them when mine were realy bad and it helped be breath better so I amsure the snorign was not as bad. I knwo what you mean about him snoring, if I get woekn up at night by a kdi or something and he is facing my way he snores real bad. I have to nunge him to roll over. I snore too but he only mentions it when it is real bad. hope you can get soemthign that works. Have you tried having a vaporizer in your room. Not sure if you need one that gives off cool air or warm mist but I hear that helps too.

I went to the store and got some of those breathe right strips, so I will give those a shot and see if they help.

I reccomend the breath right strips too if its in your sinus'...One thing to mention about the snoring though is Obstructive Sleep Apnea...which is in other terms snoring..Some people have this and when they have a cold its intensifies...However, it could just be from all the fluid in your sinus and what not...Have you had a scratch test to see what it is you are allergic to? That may help to better conteract you allergies if they know exactly what you are allergic to.. Most over the conter medicines are general antihistamines and don't target a particular type of allergy which may or may not give you any relief. Hope this helps!

I went to an Allergist last year and he suggested this, but didn't give me any encouraging evidence that it would be worth going through. Plus I have tattoos on my arms and my back where they'd want to do the scratch and prick tests.
I was told the shot therapy was normally done weekly to bi-weekly for like 5 yrs and still may not help and I'd still probably have to take pills too, so ...
For now I guess I am just suffering through; it isn't too bad most of the time and I deal with it when it is. At least I work from home and don't have to worry about dealing with the public and all ;)

That pillow is interesting ;)
Well, I tried the breathe right strips last night and I took meds before bed too. I sort of feel like I slept better (maybe it is just in my head that I did) and DH didn't say anything when he left this morning, so ...
