Ok ladies, please do me a favor....I need some positive vibes sent my way tomorrow afternoon. I'm finally interviewing for the pharmacy position at Cancer Treatment Centers.
I REALLY want this job...it's supposed to be one of the best companies to work for. And it's SUCH a good place for me to be - with lots of opportunity for the future.
I'd really appreciate thoughts and prayers...or candle lightings and herb burnings if you're into that! :bblol:
Thanks!!

Thanks, guys! :whoohoo:
I have a good feeling about it...but I'm still a bit nervous. Never had to do a full-fledged REAL interview before. AND it's a panel interview...more than one person asking me questions. Eep!
Maybe I should bring a ton of cupcakes with me so they won't have time to talk much.
:geek:
Perfect idea! lol See? You're on top of things!

Thank you for all the good thoughts, ladies...I have a feeling it helped out A LOT!
I wasn't too nervous in the beginning because I had been told that I had a good chance because the other people who'd applied for the job weren't too impressive. So I was ok.
BUT...then I got a call from my friend who works there and said that another friend we know showed up to apply, too. And he had experience dealing with supplements/vitamins...a lot of what the job entailed.
So he was my MAJOR competition! I got SOOOO nervous at that point.
By the time I reached the place, though, I was just fine again...not nervous at all. I felt good about it.
I interviewed with three different people...a recruiter, the pharmacy manager, and my friend, the lab tech. I NAILED it! I didn't stutter or stammer...and I answered the questions with ease (which is surprising...I'm a flake when it comes to point blank questions! LOL).
My friend called me right after work and said it was now between me and the other guy we know who had the experience. D'oh!!!
HOWEVER, the guy wore sandals with no socks to the interview!! So that REALLY counted against him...they hated that. Stupid guy!
The recruiter liked me best out of all the applicants (yay!) so her vote was for me. The manager liked us both the best, but hated his sandals. And of course, my friend had the rest of the staff (who I met) voting for me, too.
She said, "I'm almost 100% sure the job is yours...though she still has to make the decision."
I'll know within a couple of days, I guess!!!
SO....yayayayayayyayaya!! Thanks for the well wishes! I think I'm gonna get it!

Glad things went well for you; hope you get the job. It is always nice having a steady source of money coming in, you do not realise how much you like it until you go into business for yourself and you don't have it anymore. LOL

Can I just say, "Ewwwwwwww!" No offense to anyone whose man might wear these - but the only "Sandals" that I like on a guy are flipflops! And the WORST is sandals with socks! "GAAAAG!"
Anyways - Tango, I am so glad to hear that you had a great interview! I am sending postive vibes to the person in charge to pick you! Let us know when they call!

Congrats on the interview and getting this far! I hope you get the job, and if you're a guy why would you wear sandels to an interview anyway? ...and if you're going to wear sandels you shouldn't wear socks too. Lol.

So ....... are you giving up the painting now or will you still take an odd job for "gravy" money?

What will you be doing exactly?
I'll be in the pharmacy doing all kinds of regular pharm stuff (giving out patient meds, helping the pharmacist stay organized, etc), but I'll mainly be working with the naturopathy doctors and helping patients do the 'natural healing' program with vitamins and supplements.
The hospital does radiation and chemo for cancer, but they focus more on whole-person healing...like mind-body medicine, acupuncture, yoga, supplements/vitamins, spiritual healing...that sort of thing.
It's SOOOOOO right up my alley!
So ....... are you giving up the painting now or will you still take an odd job for "gravy" money?
I've been working for that lady with Parkinson's as her assistant for about 2 months and haven't done any painting. I've been trying to work my way out of it because it's just something that's hard to get away from because it's easy since it's what you know. KWIM? So I wanted something different...something that would make a difference (other than the color of people's walls. LOL).
And this is it! It was perfect timing and a perfect match.
I might take VERY small jobs and do them on weekends...but no big jobs anymore. And I can't say HOW thrilled I am about this!
:whoohoo:
That sounds like an unbelievable opportunity for you! :whoohoo:
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Good for you. It sounds very interesting & challenging (in a good way)!
It's hard to step out of one's "comfort zone" but in no time at all, it will be like you have been there all along.
