My wedding is in 10/27 and I am freaking out everything it pretty much set exceptr my centerpieces!!! The budget is really tight for the centerpieces I was going to do martini glasses as center pieces and then I went and priced the big ones at Garden Ridge and they are 10.00 a glass. So I need another another idea I was thinking about floating candles in a glass bowl with colored stones. PLease any simple but nice yet inexpensive ideas relating to the floating candles will be greatly appreciated

You could just do a simple little votive holder with some greenery around it, then scatter rose petals on the table around it. If you have larger tables you can to two per table.

We did this for a friend of mine's wedding I helped with last year; I think it was less than $5 per table. We found most of the stuff at the local dollar store and it worked out great.

:goodluck:

you can find very inexpensive globes at stores like the dollar tree and place a candle in each. and sprinkle rose petals or place pine cones and greenary around them. not sure what you colors or theme are here.

IKEA has a TON of vases that are VERY CHEAP!!!! We got ours at IKEA for $1.50 a vase. Then we submerged a flower with a floating candle. We placed all the vases on mirrored tiles from the home depot. We also added colour gems to the bottom of the vase from the dollar store. Our centrepieces cost us $7.00 a piece. They worked very nicely and everyoen loved them.

How about bowls with the floating candles but instead of stones different colred roses anchored in the water? They will give off the most beautiful glow!

You can get your rose petals or what ever kind of flower you want to spread on the table really cheap on ebay. You can get an entire bag that will probably do all the tables. I really like the idea of a neat vase with a flower submerged in water.

By the time it came down to our centerpieces we were pretty tight budgeted as well. I got the idea from my mom's friend (who acted as our wedding planner)...she used 2 candles (similar to the 2 pillar candles used to light the unity candle) and glued like two little rings to the bottom, and found a local candle shop to imprint a saying on them "Tiffany & Joe Heider
September 9, 2006"

saved a ton of $$ and they were actually pretty cute..when we did the dances we turned off all the lights (so the planners could prepare for the cake cutting) and the candles lit the dancefloor (kinda)
(our wedding was outside in a pavilion, and kinda early in the afternoon but when it became darker we had late dances before we left for the honeymoon)

Hope that helps

Use coupons at Michael's for the glasses!!!!

Yup! Any Micheal's will honor comperitors coupons in many locations! What a lot of brides do it put up notices at work (some have their mom's and Bm do it too, especially if they are teachers, they usually get a good haul!) They ask for people ot leave them the poupons in their box (desk, etc) on Mondays if they don't need them and they go in groups and run through the registers and use them. In some areas they hop from one store ot another if there are several in the area.

Another inexpensive idea is to get boxes different shapes and sizes and wrap them like wedding gifts for the centerpieces! A little tulle or remnences of lace is a nice touch ad well as glusing a couple of silk flowers under the bow. (buying silkd on clearance on vines or in clusters is usually very cheap!) Martha Stewert tissue paper flowers are also a nice touch.

Some people find creative ways to display favors in the center as a inexpensive centerpies as well as a live plant like mums or something with a pretty paper covering the cheap plastic pot.

Even a bowl of some sort of food like pretty but fresh baked breads could be pretty.

I really appreciate all of the replies, I am now trying to finalize one. I really had my heart set on the floating candles so that's what I want do.

kevinsbride2B- would you by chance have a picture of your centerpieces?? I really like the idea and it sounds like it was beautiful and a project I can complete myself with a little direction

Also..................................

Can someone please explain how the coupon thing at Michael's. Exactly how that works?? As you can tell I'm lost and in distress, my wedding planner my best friend got in a very bad car accident and is bed ridden until further notice so I have to make this happen bu myself.

All of your suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Michaels' coupons are for 40% off one NON-sale item! Just get the coupons, get your friends and go in a buy a bunch of the vases/glasses you want!!!

Sorry to hear about your friend! I hope she is okay soon!

If you haven't gotten an answer yet on the coupons, the only problem with Michael's is that they will only let you use one coupon per purchase. Some of the cashiers are nice and will ring up 2 separate sales so you can use 2 coupons but I've never tried with more than that.

That said, I was buying bowls for my daughter's wedding at Michaels. With the 40% coupon they were costing me about $3.19 with tax. I found them at Walmart for $2.97 and then at Dollar Store for $2.00. The very same bowl. It certainly pays to check the other stores out - when you have time which you are obvioiusly running out of.

Good luck.
