I like certain things in both designs. I think I have said it before but I will say it again ... when you get ready to do it, go talk to the artist and have them draw something special for you. You don't want to get something you saw on the wall, online or in a magazine.

I have 7 and 1 was 'Flash' (off the wall in the shop) and 1 was from a sticker I found (both are butterflies BTW ;)) I like them both but I see the sticker everywhere now and I have met a couple of other girls with the same butterfly too. So I am going to add more to them one day. I am happier with the custom designs I have.

Well I guess that is all for now ;)

GL, they are addicting!

Well, it isn't a pleasant feeling but if you went through childbirth it shouldn't be that bad ;)

Some people do pass out during a tattoo, but it is usually not from the actual pain, it is the panic and they usually hold their breathe and/or hyperventilate. Take slow deep breaths and relax. The outline is usually the worst part, then the shading and coloring isn't too bad ... your skin will kind of get used to it. Although in some areas you may still feel the pain more. Just remember to breath.

Aside from the pain issue ... the are will need to be shaved, so if it is on your leg be sure to shave your legs that day ;) Then they will clean the area and apply a tracing/transfer of the design so you can get an idea of the look and placement.

Lets see what else ... well of course they will usually make you show ID and sign a consent form and they usually make you pay up front and most shops only take cash or credit cards.

Then of course they will clean and bandage it and tell you how to take care of it. Many artists have different aftercare techniques and some will try to sell you this expensive and unneccasary cream. I always get A & D ointment for the first few days and then I just use a pure, fragrance free lotion like Curiel. It will be sore and swollen for a couple of days then it will start to scab over ... don't pick at it or you will pull the color out. It will itch and you will want to scratch it, DON'T ... if you do you could could get it infected.

Depending on the size and placement of the piece it will heal in a couple of weeks and then you will be all set. ;) I guess that is about it.

Yeah, I have one on my lower back. It did hurt and some parts were worse than others, it took and hour and a half, but it wasn't too bad. Most of the ones I have were not that bad. I know I mentioned this before but the big one on my back was the absolute worst ... IMG, that one sucked major :censored: It took 5 hours and I started to get a little light headed towards the end. I was nervous about the one I got yesterday because that was the last one I got and it hurt so bad. But it wasn't as bad and I will still get more ;)

LOL, yeah ;) My DH doesn't like tattoos and piercing but he says he likes mine. The whole 8 piercings thing sounds worse than it is ... I have 3 in each ear (makes 6) and then my tongue and my nostril. I may get the navel piercing one day if/when I loose about 20 lbs ;)

Well, I don't do anything without getting my DH's opinion on it first. Even though he says 'do what you want' I still like it if he is cool with it and if it is something he doesn't like I will usually reconsider. He does things like that with me too, I just like that we discuss things even though sometimes it is just little things.

I hav eone so far. On the backof my right shoulder. I got this just to see if I can tolerate it enough to get the one I really want. Which is a uniconr with wings onmy laower back. some day I will get it. As for the pain. Your right when you say the out line hurt the most. The coloring in was nothing. But Mine healed great. No scabbing or itching or anything. I just got lucky I guess. and my FH loves it he kisses it all the time. I want a couple of more. The unicorn and then a spiral rainbow. Not sure where that one will go yet.

My sister has a few. she drew all of them herself. So you kow there is not another one like it out there. I may get her to draw my unirocn. I have a picture a friend drew for me as an idea of what I want. Becasue I cant draw a thing. I told her what I was looking for and she drew it. It could be better but it is the idea i was looking for . Once I find the drawing i will scan it and show you.

When I got mine done (on the back of my right shoulder) the night after, I fell asleep on my back, which was weird, because I NEVER sleep on my back. The next morning, when I woke up, I had to peel myself from the sheet! That hurt worse than getting the tattoo in the first place!

As for opinions about tattoos...my personal opinion is this:

When I come up with an idea for a tattoo, I have to have the actual design picked out and then I have to wait a year...if I still like it, then I'm allowed to get it. I have the one I have that survived the year and I have another one that's waiting for the money...In august, my last plan will be allowed. I just don't want to HATE it years down the line...so I figure this is my guarantee. I would NEVER take anyone else's opinion about it though...sounds awful, but it's my body thing tat is going to be on for the rest of MY life...no one else's.

:bblol: LOL ... I have been stuck to the sheets before ;) Now I bandage the tat at night for the 1st couple of days.

Sounds like a good plan to me ... I do something kind of like that. I will get an idea and go over it with my DH and see what he thinks. Then save the money, which usually takes a while, and see if I still like the idea by the time I have the money.

I only have one that I sort of wish I didn't have. It is a scorpion on the back of my neck, it is still ok but I am just not as into all that zodiac stuff as much as I was when I got it. Well, there was actually 2 but I got the other one covered up ;)

Hmmmm...did I mention I was curious? What'd you get covered up? What'd you get covered up?

I'm pretty sure I've posted it in here before, but here's my tat:

Yeah Kelli, I think you posted your tat pic on one of the other threads about tattoos ... I still think it is nice :D

As for what I got covered up ... it was just this dumb symbol, bad design, bad subject matter, bad tattoo. I was :drunk: when I got it  But it has been a long time. I know I posted this before too, but this is the one that was the cover up ...

I think it's absolutely amazing what they can do with coverups! I couldn't see the old one even if I stared at it for hours...and had a pic of the old one! Nice work!

Thanks ... I can actually see a little bit of the old one if I look really close at the picture but no one else can see it. I think it is just 'cause I know where to look ;)
