Starting our new life (Kevin& Lindsey)

So the wedding has come and gone and now it's just Kev and I. The only thing still left up in the air is the thank you cards.
We got back from our honeymoon last Sunday and since we've been back it's been a real ajustment. Even though we lived together for a year before we got married it's still different. He's my husband now! I really didn't think there would be a difference but there is!!! I'm loving every single moment of it too :)

So we're in the process of renovating the basment. Initaly we were sharing the house with my Mom. She's reallya cool lady who gives us our space, isn't really home much and could really use the help from us financially. So we've literally torn apart the basement and we're renovating it to be our "love shack" as Kevin calls it lol.
Yesterday Kevin and my Grandfather installed laminate flooring. It was a comedy of errors. Kevin who has a very anal retentive side of him when it comes to handy work vs. my Grandfather who just says "this will do...". It was hillarious.

I really thought I was going to be able to relax a lot since the wedding finaished but there are still so many balls in the air. I still need all my pro pics and so on. It's just crazy!
And then there is me trying to get my name changed. The problem I have is the hours. I really can't take off any more days and in order to change my name I need to take off time to go to the gov. offices that are only open during the day dammit! Little by little I'll have it changed over.

I go to my inlaws next weekend for Thanksgiving. It's a big deal to his family so they get us for that weekend. The first weekend being up there as a family member not just the "girlfriend" as they used to refer to me as. I'm not sure what to expect. I spoke to his mom the other night and she seemed a little more down to Earth which was a pleasent suprise.

The one thing I know is that since the wedding I've fallen even more in love with Kevin which I thought was impossible. I just look at him and think "I got you forever now baby!" It's such a nice feeling and I'm taking advantage of it!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with his family, I am sure they are just as excited as you to have you be a part of the family. Back to reality is sometimes the best part after a wedding, Enjoy it!

Yeah! You started a journal!! I have had the same issues too. Things have gotten just as crazy now that the wedding is over...No vacation time, tons of thank yous, changing my name with one thing at a time, etc etc I hear ya sister..No one warned us about that huh?? lol..

I know exactly how you feel. Today has been a month since our wedding day..I feel so much more complete and different since the wedding..You just feel different and like love its a hard word to describe but I still have that newlywed high!


Athough..what I don't like is...I have no real pics from the wedding and only god knows when we'll get to have our DVD so I'm a little sad about that..

So the floor is down 100%, the base boards are going on tonight and we're getting there! I told Kevin his deadline is Friday. This may seem quick but Mr man was suppose to have all this done BEFORE the wedding!!!
We went to IKEA and the home depot last night with some of our gift cards and got some new stuff. It's exciting!

I also got some GREAT news last night!!! My Mom's boyfriend's son goes to school at the Toronto film institute. He and soem of his school friends are goign to take our 6 hours of video and do all our editing for us!!! I just had the girl tape it and I was goign to look later for editing. But now we're going to get it doen and for a case of beer! That's all they want! But I'm not that stingy I'll give them extra stuff. I'm so excited!!! I thought I was going to be on the forever plan with the DVD of the wedding.

Now I just have to get ahold of the photographer and see what she says about the rest of the pics.

I just wanna lay down in my new palce, watch our wedding DVD and have our pictures up on the wall and I'll be a happy little camper lol.

Well I'm goign to set up with them to get together at some point early next week. I have 6 hours of coverage to get done. We just need to decide on our music and so forth. I'm just happy that the videographer literally taped EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even when I didn't want her there she was there and I think it's going to be good because of that.
But I will admit I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

So the remainder of the floor went in yesterday adn the base boards were attached. Now comes the hard part... We have this TV unit down stairs that needs to come up stairs. The only problem is that it is SOLID WOOD!!! This thing weighs a bloody ton! So I'm going to see if I can rope in a few family members to come over and help us he he he!
My job is to just crack the whip. I told Kevin there is no reason why we shouldn't have a bed set up down there and be able to sleep in it by Friday. It's just a matter of keeping him on track.

I'm goign to have to e-mail my photographer today and see where she stands with the pictures. I want to use a few of them in my wedding DVD as stills, and I can get that doen any day. So we're just waiting in her.

The clock is ticking to this weekend for Thanksgiving up at Kevin's parents place. Unfortunatly my sister in law and her husband won't be there. I was really counting on them to be there as we're really close and it'll ease some of my stress. Instead we've got 3 of their kids coming with us. They said it'll be good practice lol. Married less thena month with 4 kids, sure! lol

Well up here in Canada a 24 of beer is a treasure box lol!!! ha ha ha I think I'll find out what each of the guys drink and get them a little extra something. Cause I know that if I was to go to a company to have it edited I would be paying through the roof!!! Plus these guys are willing to do whatever I want which is awesome. After the wedding I'm sick of hearing people tell me "oh no you shoudl do it this way instead..." Makes me MENTAL!!!

So this weekend is Thanksgiving up here in Canada. It's a really big deal for Kevin's parents. They have a massive meal and the whole family comes up for the weekend. If anyone remembers last Thanksgiving I was invited and then uninvited to his families dinner. So this is the first year I have been invited.
I'm really nervous. His parents have never been the nicest nor are they the warmest people that God ever blew breath into. I always fel under dressed the second I walk into their expensive house.
We're taking up all the kids in the family with us so luckily I won't feel all the pressure. But still I get so nervous.
The minute I start to get close I literally almost make myself sick from my nerves and I'm usually a VERY easy going person. even Kevin asked why I start to get sick when we get near his parents place. Because it's written all over my face how I feel.
But I'm really and truly hoping that because the wedding is over now and I AM FAMILY that maybe it'll be calmer but who knows.
Keep your fingers crossed for me pleeeeeeeeeeeeease!

So here I am SICK AS A DOG!!!! And it's our weekend without Kevin's daughter coming up. Oh man it sucks!
Thankfully I wasn't sick for my Thanksgiving with the inlaws! Otherwise I don't think I would have been able to bare it.
So the update on my inlaws thanksgiving. Blahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! No they are not nicer now that we're married. But I'm not either :) I'm standing up for myself. Not being rude by ANY means, but not taking their $hit either!
But get this... We're sitting after dinenr on the Saturday night chit chatting and talkign about facebook. I mentioned how my Mom has Kevin's cousin on her friends and so on. Doesn't my father in laws come out and tell me "They didn't talk 10 minutes the whole wedding how can they be friends?! It's quite apparent that your mother and family are VERY selective on who they choose to converse with!" What the hell is that suppose to mean????? I just looked at him and changed the subject. He's just being a knob.
But Kevin's neice and nephews were on my side. When asked what they were thankful for the 3 kids said "Our new Aunt Lindsey" I was like awwww. Kevin's mother then asked, well what else, insinuating that wasn't a good answer. Never the less the kids made my thanksgiving!

I can't stand InLaws sometimes. That stink that they haven't even gotten warmer to you since the wedding. Some people just suck, and there is not changing that unfortunately...Luckily you have all of your sisters here to listen to your vents :) I don't know what I would do without OneWed!

Well ladies I haven't been on here in what feels like FOREVER! But I have a very very very bad case of pneumonia that has had me flat on my butt for the last little while. They had to drain my lungs on Sunday and since then it's just been gross!
But on a happier note I GET MY PRO PICS ON CD TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. My photographer was like "Lindsey if your really sick it's ok we can reschedule..." NO WAY!!! It's what has kept me all excited and so on lol.
The basement is finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks amazing, I'm so in love with it all. Kevin is quite a handy guy!

HEYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I'm sorry I've been so MIA but we truly are building a new life together and things have just been CHAOTIC!!!! Plus I had double pneumonia, and it landed me in bed for a few weeks. I literally couldn't walk more than 5 steps without coughing up a lung.
And Kevin and I are dealing with some health issues both with him and myself.
I miss you guys too, and once everything calms down you'll see my smiling little avatar more often I promise!!!
