I saw this on a craft forum (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=190245.0) that I frequent and thought it was a really neet idea for a children's favor. I am not having children at my wedding but maybe this will help others that are.

Supplies...
Crayons (Dollar Tree, $1.00)
Heart-shaped foils (Kroger)
Cookie sheet
Oven

Bake at 200 degrees until you reach a consistency you like.

The crayons will seperate as you bake them. The top portion (that you can see) will look like a mucky mess. Don't panic! The portion that you unwrap maintains the colors.

Super cute! I am planning on having a kids activity table for coloring and small toys, and these would be perfect!

Holly cow!! :frogg:

All my cousins have little girls between 3 and 8, so my mom told me not to pick one and just have them all. I think it's a lot, but whatever.

We did this when I was a little girl in Girl Scouts. I remember it being so much fun! That is super cute for a kid's table or favor.

They make a lot of leaf shaped cookie cutters, actually. I was looking into that. But, what if the crayon leaked out under the edge or something, I don't know.
I would think there would have to be leaf shaped tins somewhere out there, I'm just not having good luck, hehe.

I LOVE THIS!

We have about a bizillion kids coming to our wedding (ok, maybe more like 25) and I want to make these.

Any ideas on where I could get tins (of any shape?) like that? We don't have Krogers in NYC where I live or on Cape Cod where I am getting married.

Hrmm.

Hmm I'd look in the baking section at any large store, like Walmart and Winco I know I've seen some. Also maybe try some dollar stores? You could always try to search online too!

Waaaah. We don't have Walmart OR Winco in NYC (I mean SURELY I can find these in NYC) or on Cape Cod and we have a bizillion $.99 stores in my neighborhood, but not the Dollar Store.

Am looking online. Found Reynold's Fun Shapes, but no retailer for them. Hrmph.

You can totally make your own with a cookie cutter (or any other shape) and piece of foil. Cut your foil into squares. Using the cookie cutter (carefully so you don't tear the foil) make an impression in the foil and fold up the sides around the cookie cutter. Basically, make a mold with the cookie cutter. Then remove your cutter and repeat with all of your pieces of foil. Foil's tough - it'll hold the shape.

Thanks for all of the compliments, everyone! I'm glad you like them.

They are fun to make & I bet they would be fun to make with little ones, too. They can peel, break & arrange all of the crayons and see the output after they're baked.
