I just moved to virginia beach and I don't know many places in this area. I am in the beginning of planning my wedding-on-a-budget, and I don't know where to begin. someone help please.

I don't live any where near there, but I have been there and loved it.
I think the best place to start is to start looking for a venue and check out some local venders to find some reputatble ones.
Do you want an inside or outside wedding? The beach is a beautiful spot for a ceremony!!

deciding indoor or outdoor is one problem I am facing. everyone says we get storms off the water about the end of may(which is the time I am getting married) and alot of clients I have talked to at the salon say its not a good time. I really wanted an out door wedding because it is cheaper (i have a guest list of about 130) and my FH and I have to pay for it all by ourselves. I may just have to take the chance and have my dream beach wedding.

I have found so many really nice websites with ideas for beach weddings. So if you go with this idea let me know.
Will you have the ceremony and the reception on the beach? You should look into renting a tent just in case it does rain. I would suggest finding a back up venue just incase the weather is too bad. I wanted to have my reception under a tent but then I decided I would have it under a pavillion. That way I don't have to worry about leaks and wind. I don't know how windy it gets on the beach in a storm.
You could always change the date too to a time when the weather is usually nicer. I know it is probably too hot in the summer but what is June like?

With ANY outdoor wedding, you have to have a back up in case of rain. I would hate for you to decide against the wedding of your dreams, plan it inside and the weather be absolutely gorgeous that day.
Becky is right about changing the date, but also what about time of day? Its usually warmer during the day and the a lot cooler off the water at night.
Good luck!

I want an oustdie wedding also. And that is what I am planning. I was going to have the reception outside as well but then the more I though tabou tit the more I wanted the hall. Just for the fact the bar is there, i can have the DJ and if it does happen to rain then we can get married at the hall as well. Good luck on what you decide. If all goes my way we will get married in the yard at my sisters hosue. Then the reception will be at the American Legion. For me being 7 horus way I can still figure out the lay of th table and such for the hall. I grew up in that place. And every wedding I have ever been to in my home town has had the reception at ths hall. My bridal shower was held there for my first wedding.

I am thinking about changing to september. June, July, and August are soooo hot and humid, people won't want to stay outside too long. I am thinking about renting a beach house that way I can do it all in one place. uh, decisions, decisions!

I'd be really helpful!! Honest!! Just think of it more as a traveling wedding helper:D Oh yeah I don't eat much either;) And I would bring my air mattress so you could just stick me out on the beach when it's time to go to bed. :bblol:
