What to do with the contest ....

As many of you know we have had some issues with the scavenger hunt contest. We tried changing the rules to make things clearer and the whole thing easier to deal with on the judging end, but that has upset a few people.

I know that whatever we do we may upset someone, and I don't know that there is much we can do about that.

So please share with us what you think we should do to continue with this.

I think the idea of us ONLY taking our own pics is fair and not using the old pics! I have had a lot of fun taking some of these pics...sure I thought the bee was going to sting me, and the people at the pink house came out when I was taking the pic so we drove off, but overall, FH and I have had fun! This weekend we will take more!!!!

I have an idea...maybe you could say people could have 5-10 internet pics BUT they have to be put into their photoalbum!

Personally, I love the idea of going out and taking pics, some of us have had a lot of fun with it! But obviously some we will not be able to get ourselves..or will we?!?! HA HA!!!

That is an idea, but I am sure some of the people that have posted several times would have issue with this too :rain: Then there is still the issue of the same pics coming up over and over; like the phone booth and the kermit one. But I myself have seen more than these online that would fit ;)

But there are 55 items on the list, you are probably not going be able to get them all either way. That is one of the reasons why we wanted to have so many, so everyone would have a chance to get some.

I see....well it would be more work for you guys, but just don't count any multiples, people can take chances!!! I think people do an image search and only look on the front page even if there are 40 pages of images!

I still vote for the new rule of US only taking the pics, there are options...

I like the idea of only using our own pics. I guess it might be nice if some creativity leeway was given since some pics are going to be darn near impossible to find given where people live and if you end up in a situation where there are just a whole bunch that are impossible you kinda feel left out. By creativity, I don't mean photoshop or difficult interpretation.

I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of, say a bee on a flower is a pretty simple thing but it's gotten colder around here lately and I haven't seen any bees in their usual places. So I was thinking about getting creative with that and taking a picture (put a stuffed animal bee on a flower or a cutout picture of a bee, or the word "bee")... Basically stuff like that. I mean I'm not going to be able to stage a 3 legged dog, but I might be able to find a stuffed dog dressed as a cheerleader in a toy shop.

One part that stinks is a whole family of ducks crossed the street in front of my car last week and this week they are no where to be found. :(

I don't have a problem with creativity; as long as it is not a "Photoshop'd" pic or one that is "reaching" to fit, like the difficult interpretation you mentioned. And of course it would have to be a real picture and not a painting or graphic image.

I didn't participate in the contest cause it just seemed to confusing to me...I think what would have worked better is to have smaller pics..and have the oppurtunity to post only once...I also think internet pics are too easy. I think that they should have been your own..What could have been done that may have been easiest is for everyone to have a photobucket album and at the end of the contest everyone post a link from their photobucket album and the judges look at each album and score accordinly..It just seemed like one huge cluster of pics and I don't even know how you can begin to keep track of posting the pics like they were being done and giving credit..I just stayed away from it because it was making my head spin!! LOL!

I don't think anyone would be upset if you ended and maybe started the contest over. I think that would be fair and the ladies on here are understanding as it is..Anyhow..this was just some of my ideas..
