First off Brian and I have decided that we are using our children ONLY as attendents. His daughter and mine will be bridesmaids, and my 2 oldest boys will be groomsmen, and my youngest son will be ring bearer. As some of you know......we have had problems with attnedents.
Ok....anyway....My wedding in itself isnt very traditional as it is, so I dont really care to do the whole ring pillow thing. But I saw this ring holder and thought it would be perfect to put our rings on and my 5 year old could easily carry it. Even better, I can use it after the wedding.

I love the idea of using just your kids. It will solidify you as a family. The ring holder is cute too. I like it. If you want to use a pillow though, you could always safety pin them on.

That's a good idea Cindy. I bet your kids are excited! :D

I like the ring holder idea. You could always tie a little ribbon above the rings so if she dropped it or tripped they would be less likely to go flyin. And everyone is on their hands and knees looking for your rings! That would be awful!:bbeek:

Im not really worried about him dropping it. It small and will fit ferfect in his little hands. We will do something though to make sure the rings stay on till we take them off. The girls are excited.....the boys are like "ok....whatever".
I just think the whole satin pillow out at the lake seemed odd. But that my opinion. And we havent finalized it but we have talked about ALL walking "up the isle" together.

I think this is a great idea!! After having so many problems with our attendants at our wedding! And what can we say other then boys will be boys!! Lol...I:m sure as the day gets closer they will get more excited!!

I like the ring idea!! And like you said, you can use it after the wedding! Every time you put your ring on you will think of the wedding!!

Duh! I don't know why I said she before. I guess I was just thinking about your flower girls at the time. I agree I think the ring holder will be more appropriate than a pillow;)

Yeah I love having them involved in the ceremony too, but wished there was a way for at least the youngest 2 to not be at the reception. I know that sounds bad, but I know how I am. I could have 10 sitters for each kid and I will still spend the entire night chasing them around and watching them. Plus there will be drinking there and I dont really want them around it. No one will be getting drunk, (at least not now that we have shaved a few off the guest list!;) ), but I want to be able to relax and enjoy myself. If my kids are around, I wont be able to keep from being "mommy".

Ahh, the joys of mommy-hood. Do you have an aunt or cousin or friend that you trust to watch the boys at night who can take them home before the real heavy partying starts?

I think thats what we are going to do. They werent going to be at home with us that night anyway, but I dont want anyone thinking they have to leave at a certain time because of my kids.

Easy situation to resolve, a teaspoon of Benadryl in the sparkling grape juice you are going to let the little ones toast with.

OMG too funny. I have a total of 6 kids in my wedding party if all goes as planned. I am planning on having a section with toys and books and maybe some throw pillows for the kids. I want my 2 there for a little while. I am plannign on having a dance with my son and my FH with my daughter. But after all the formal stuff is over I have talked to my sister about having a sitter or 2 at her house that we can ship the kids off to. My 2 will be too into their grammie and cousins to want anything to do with me at all. It is this way when ever we go home for a visit. Good luck and I think it sounds great and I do like you ring carrier. My ring bearers are only 2 yrs old so i need to come up with something for them.

I have kids ranging from 14 all the way down to just over a year and believe me, I've made some changes as far as things go so that we don't have any "on the ground looking for rings" moments. Fortunately, my ring bearer is experienced (he was the ring bearer in my brother's wedding a few years ago). My flower girl has been downsized from full basket to a couple of daisies tied together...and if that doesn't work...then nothing. And I think all the jbs are going to be ok...as long as none of them get caught doing stupid things again (long story...we have a lot of thos in my family)!

Anyways, the ring holder is beautiful and I think it's a great idea as far as a momento goes! How great will it be to be able to leave your rings on something that walked down the aisle just moments before you joined lives forever with the one you love...ok, I'm getting mushy...I'm in a mushy wedding mood today...we're getting married you guys! *happy tears*
