Ok I posted about reception packages.
I mean it's an ok deal but really 99 dollars PER PERSON!!:hothead:
Plus 500 for the banquet hall which is reasonable but the 99 per person.
I just can't see that. So where do I go now? Do I get a list of catering services and have them come to the hall? But then that means I have to set up...

oy oy oy..
elope. Simple, nice and worry free! :whoa: :whoa: :whoa:

I feel like it's getting way to complicated. All I wanted was just to elope have our closest people there that we want. Instead it's now it's this!!

We want to do it in the hotel that we are staying at because we have the kids. We want to be able to check on them while they stay in the room with sitter after dinner so that we can socialize and visit. Most of all we don't want to be driving everywhere.

Ideas please??!

Ok ... lets start thinking out of the box. You have many options here!

Option Number 1:
ELOPE - leave the kids with a sitter at home and just you and your honey run away and get married (So romantic)

Option Number 2:
TINY INTIMATE FAMILY WEDDING - Consisting of parents, kids, and 1 sitter.
*Call and get a Block rate on rooms. (You will need 1 room for each set of parents - considering they are still married, a kids room that is ajoined to the sitters room, and you and your honey's room) So I am guessing around 4 parents, 2 kids (Not sure how many you have - just a guess) and 1 sitter for a total of 7 guests. No need to book a room or a hall - just take everyone out for a nice dinner and pic up the tab!

Option Number 3:
SMALL INTIMATE FAMILY & RELATIVE WEDDING - Consisting of parents, kids, 1 sitter, aunts/uncles/friends etc. Going from a number you gave - I am playing with 28 max here. Block a number of rooms - this is to be paid by the guests. The only rooms you will pay for would be your own, kids and the sitter. See about trying to find a nice restaraunt that has a big room where they could just close off to the public. Ask about sitting a large group in a separate room. You then could let them know that you will be paying for just dinner or dinner and drinks and get some quotes. Ask about making a "Selection Menu - so you will have an idea on how much it costs per person". A lot of times, they will show you a menu and you will then pick 2 or 3 of each serving, (Ex: ENTREE: Chicken or Beef, SIDES-choose 2: Baked Potato, Green Beans, Mac and Cheese, etc.) Most of the time a restaraunt will not charge a fee to use a back room/large group room. So finding something like this would be ideal.

I dunno if this helps or is what you were asking ... but I hope it does!:notsure:
This would be easier than finding a hall and paying the fe

Do what I did and talk to the hotel about your budget and what you're looking for. They might be willing to work with you. The worst they could say is "no" and then you can look at other options.

Is there a restaurant on site you could go enjoy a dinner at instead of renting the hall?
