Hello all, I just wanted to show off my new tattoo I got today ...
http://www.ramblingsofme.com/photogallery/mytats/new_tat.jpg
It is still a little swollen and maybe a little distorted from the angle of the photo but you should get the idea ;)
I really love it and it is especially meaningful for me because it is a cross and that it was my 7th one.
So (those of you that like tattoos ;)) what do you think?

I say go for it ... just don't get something off the wall in the parlor (called 'Flash') get the artist to custom design something cool for you.
Oh, wait ... that will be your wedding date, right? Personally, I dont' recommend getting names, dates or initials tattooed on you unless it is your parents or your kids. However, if you get a cool design where the date isn't that obvious, then it would still be cool even if you guys ever broke up. Not saying you will but you know ;) Well that is just my opinion on all that.
Best wishes,

Yeah, it hurt a little but if you just breathe (hehe, kind of like Lamaze) it isn't all that bad. The big one on my back hurt alot worse than this one though. I think the pain management thing is all in your head. I cried like a baby getting an IV once when I was sick but I can sit through a tattoo ;)

Oh I can handle the pain from a tattoo, infact I find it to be quite hypnotic....but when the tattoo artist starts hittin bone, its a little much! I can't wait to get another though, I really look forward to it!! Its so ADDICTING!!

What :bbquestion: Well, I guess you sort of get in a 'zone' once you get through the outline. My brother got one on the side of his neck today too and he said it hurt REALLY bad. He has full sleeves too and said that the neck thing was way worse than that.
...but when the tattoo artist starts hittin bone, its a little much!
Yeah, you are right about that! When I got the one on my back, the parts that touched my shoulder blade were the worst!

That is very true! I am addicted ;) I want lots more :D

That is a very cool looking tattoo. You are so lucky to have gotten one again. I want another so bad but I dont have the money and I dont have one artist that I can truly trust. I only have one and the guy did an awsome job. But he was out of NY and was here for Bike Week. That was 3 yrs ago now I think since I got this one. Not sure when I can get another one. You are so lucky. And did I mention it was very cool looking? lol

Thanks for the complements! It was a late Christmas present. I sort of feel bad for spending the money on it, but I love it so! And it has been a while (nearly 3 years) since I got my last tattoo and who knows how long it will be before I can afford to get another one ... I do want lots more though ;) It is an addicting and expensive hobby

I love tattoos!! Web, although your tattoo isn't my kind of thing, I do love the color in it! As for the butterfly, I like that very much, but I am partial because both of mine are butterflies. I have an upper back piece with a butterfly in the middle that has skulls in the upper wings and cobwebs in the lower wings and then some tribal work coming out of the sides. I am going to get the skulls and cobwebs covered though.
I have another one on my chest that has a "mama" butterfly and a "baby" butterfly with my son's name in chinese going in the middle of the two butterflies. I love them both.

The one on my back took 5 1/2 hours!

Thanks for the complement! Well, it wasn't pleasant but not as bad as the big one on my back ... so far that one was the worst of the 7 (technically 8, but one the big one was a cover-up piece) I want to get 3/4 sleeves one day and I don't have any on my arms yet so I am nervous about that ... but it may be years before I get to that ;)

This one is nice too ... maybe you should start a new thread about your tattoo ideas. It is not polite to 'hijack' another thread and keep talking about your thing.
We all do it from time to time but we usually realize what we have done after a couple of posts and then we stop and apologize and ask the OP not to hit us with a :chair: then we move the new topic to a new thread. At least that is what I try to do.
Well, in this case I am the OP ... I am not mad or trying to 'blast' you or anything, I just thought I'd mention it to you since you have made comments before that you are still learning about the board and stuff

I don't know in which direction this thread has gone, because I kind of skimmed the last couple of pages...I gotta catch up on almost a week's worth of posts! Lol...
Anyways, I love your tattoo! The colors are beautiful and I love the story of the Man walking with God and when he looks back at their footprints he notices that at the hardest times in his life, there's only one set of footprints. He asks God why God left him during the times he needed him the most and God said, "I didn't leave you, I carried you."
I ALSO LOVE the footprints poem! It was my father's favorite! Great tattoo! You have a great artist too! The blending is done REALLY well!

Yeah, it got hijacked there for a minute ;) Thanks, I am glad you like it :D It is healing well and doesn't hurt anymore (unless I touch it) I love the Footprints poem/story, I thought it was the same though?

I'll have to look at the version hanging on the wall at my mother's house...it talks about how what you do leaves footprints on so many other people's beaches...it was my father's favorite poem...
Glad to hear it's healing well!
