Ok, so we went to register today. We get to Target, where we thought we'd register first so that the majority of stuff people can get us is more affordable than Bed Bath and Beyond (which is the other place we're registering at). Anyways, we get there and there's a HUGE line for customer service. So we wait in line. We finally get up to the person and I didn't realize that we needed a barcode printed off of the computers, so we print it up and have to wait in the HUGE line again. Finally, we get up to the customer service, they scan us in with one of those little scanner thingies and give it to us, while expressing their concerns that the batteries were all dying because apparently we weren't the only people who thought we'd go register shopping today.
We ran around the store and registered for this and that (I had to convince Jason that it's ok to register for the more expensive things; just because we register for it doesn't mean people HAVE to buy it). We didn't register for very much, but we did a bit. We get back to customer service, wait in yet another HUGE line, hand them our scanner (and handle the exchange of the bracelet Jason gave me for my birthday that broke) and they inform us that nothing we scanned went through. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Great...
So we're going to remember what we scanned in and do it online. Jason's happier with that anyways. Tomorrow we're going to Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Oh the woes of registering...I know we registered at the bay here in Canada and there were a few items that didn't go in to the list either! No idea how it happened but it was kinda frustrating because they were cheap but nice things that I really wanted!! I did enjoy registering though, hopefully tomarrow will be more fun for the both of you!! Have fun!!

Thanks. We had fun, we just didn't end up registering for anything. But we did "pseudo-register" for camping gear. We're going to start camping! That's exciting for me...I love the idea and the few times I have, it's been fun...but this is going to be the good kind of camping. I've done camping in pup tents with nothing but c-rats to eat. We were looking at a propane stove, a really nice tent, and some nice sleeping bags. YAY!

I love camping! It's so much fun! We didn't register for a camp stove but my dad came up with the great idea of giving us one for a wedding gift. My husband's rich, stuck up, princess SIL totally turned up her nose at it, but I really didn't care! I can't wait to get to use it! We didn't have time to camp this past summer (wedding plans and then wedding was taking over too much time!) but we are really looking forward to it next summer!!

Sorry to hear of your registry woes :hugs: Hopefully it will get better ;)
As for the camping thing ... If I can put my two cents in; I use to go camping with my ex and his stupid friends and I hated it *Bleck* I don't think I will be doing that again. I like modern conveniences ;) I hate having to sleep in a tent and pee outside in the woods ;)

Sorry about what happened at Target. Hope all goes better tomorrow.
As for the camping I did that off and on as a kid and loved it. The closest we get to camping is when we go to Old Orchard Beach each year with my family. We sleep in tents and have a camp fire but we are at a camp ground. We have bathrooms and showers and a pool. And we take the trollie down town to the beach and the shops and rides and games. It is not like when we went actual CAMPING as a child but I like it and my kids love it.
Well I think my son doen. This past August when we went he cried all night the first night. I think it was the tent thing and not being in his own elament. He is only 4. And he burned his thumb on a sparkler. Poor little guy didnt understand why the pain was still there when he tool his hand out of the cool water.
But my daughter loves it. She didnt even sleep in our tent she had to sleep with her cousin .

Sean and I went registery scouting today. We checked out a couple various department stores and narrowed down the locations with the biggest selection that we wanted to use. What a coincidence.

My personal opinion, i hate target..I tried goin there myself..And they :censored: footed around..I swear!!Plus they are way more expensive than most places i have been to...Personally, I love Wal-Mart..The prices are better as is the selection.. I too i am sorry for what happened to you at Target..

We are also registering at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. We started the register online but Steve want to so and play with the "gun". My mom is hounding us about registering early so she can use the list for our birthdays and stuff like that. I love Target, I think it has better quality stuff and is just a nicer store. Not to mention there aren't many stores that are close to both his and my family.
As for camping, I use to gl all the time as a kid, but like Gwen, we had bathrooms and showers and a pool. There was also a beautiful lake were we went. Now Steve loves to camp, but won't sleep in a tent. He has to have a motor home. He says the ground is too hard. O well, he can have the motor home and I'll use the tent.

I second that. This girl doesn't ever want to be more than 10 minutes away from a flushing toilet, running hot water, and a Starbucks.

Oh, the three must haves in life! :)
I've always had some form of bathroom when I went camping; whether it was an actual bathroom at a campground or a porta-potty the reenacting guys brought in. I had a couple problems with the porta-potties though:
1. They set them far away from the site so as to keep the anachronisms to a minimum.
2. They are not big enough for a girl in a coverall to get out of said coverall fast enough in the morning. I subsequently knocked my flashlight down the hole and have not (nor want to) seen it since.
As for Walmart, I HATE Walmart. I can't complain about it too much because I bought a good amount of my flowers from there, but they have AWFUL hiring practices and treat their employees like :censored: . I had a friend who worked there and there was an accident involving car batteries and shelving that was not strong enough to hold them. My friend got hit in the head and had to go to the hospital. It was such a bad concussion they kept him overnight, so he couldn't go to work the next day. His FW called him in, but they fired him because he wasn't there. Not to mention they don't allow a union there and to be employed by them and even mention it could get you fired.
Sorry, kind of went off on Walmart...

So I went on the Target website just now fully prepared to re-register...and everything's on there! WOOT! I think it just didn't come up yesterday because the battery was dying. There were somethings we could scan that I'm going to add in now.

Did any of you try to add to the Registry online? We created our online and thought we would just do it all online. We were under the registry but everythign we added didn't go on it, it went in the shopping cart! I dont' know if we did something wrong or what!
I personally think Target. employees are very friends and helpful. Maybe it's just cause it's a different one. And I know around here the prices are about the same. We go to walmart a lot just cause it's 5 minutes away compaired to the 35 minutes Target it. But I love targets selection!

I've never had a problem with the employees there either.
As far as registering online, you have to make sure that you hit add to club wedd registry, not add to cart. The thing you click to add it to your registry is REALLY small, so it's easy to get confused.

Is every one registering? I am not. This is my second marriage and even though it is his first @ 27 we just aren't doing it. In my family and I am thinking his as well we will most likley get money for a gift. And we are asking for every one to bring a plate of food as it is a potluck dinner. And some of my friends are doing thing for the wedding as gifts to as us the pictures, the bouquets, and the room for the night. So we just are not doing it.

That makes sense Gwen. Besides, at this point you probably have everything you would register for anyways. That's the point of registering in the first place; to get things for your new home, but if you've been living on your own for awhile, you don't really need much. It was hard for us to pick what to register for because we do have quite a bit...so I went for the things I'd like to have.

Well, I love Target ... hate Walmart ... I usually have a much better shopping experience at Target over Walmart. I have a Walmart 5 mins from my house and I will drive right past it to go to Target. I will only go in there if I have to and it is usually like 2 in the morning at that. I have a Christmas gift I have to return there and I am SO dreading it.
I did go to a very nice Walmart in Florida a few years ago ;)
As for registering ... I didn't actually register when I got married (either time). I told people we had pretty much everything we needed. But some people still got us stuff (most of which we have yet to use ;)) and we got some money (used that ;))
If you have everything and don't want to register, I say start a 'Cash Registry' with your PayPal account. Or a Honeymoon Registry might be good too.
... still hate camping *hehe*

Sorry things went so bad Kelli, this should have been a fun experience for you two.
Brian and I dont want to really do the registering thing either. We pretty much have everything we need for our house. I mean between the 2 of us, there wasnt a whole lot we didnt have. Im kinda stuck on what we can do and what would be appropriate with this being a remarriage for both.

I'm a big fan of the honeymoon registry. It is a nice way to get a few little extras that you might not have the budget for like a message, dinner on the beach, breakfast in bed, room upgrade, ect. I know that my fsil wanted to do one but her mother refused because it wasn't tradtional. Like she and her husband needed more stuff for their house! (They were already in their mid to late 30's and had been living in two seperate homes up to that point.) If you don't need anything or want to upgrade anything than go after some things that you want. I don't know why registries are so taboo in the wedding etiquette department. Maybe 60 years ago when things were different and weddings were usually small at home affairs I could understand the etiquette rules. But, now days people expect a party and they expect to bring a gift. Why can't we make it easier on them?

Im trying to get to a Bed Bath & Beyond myself. I have that gift card I won to use! I got online and was going to do my shopping that way, but the shipping is $6. I will be in a town that has one in the next couple of weeks so I can go shopping there while Im doing my other wedding shopping.

Well with the way life has gone for me no we dont have every thign we need. We could actually use alot. But we dont "NEED" a bunch of stuff either. The things i want or need we will get with what ever we get for money. I want to be out of debt for one ( that would be so nice and save us so much in the long run ) and little things like a new laundry basket and new towels and new beddings. But i still dont feel the need to register. It just is not my style. If some one wants to get us somethign they will and i do have the fews thign slike crock pots and such. So what ever we get will be just fine. I think asing each guest to bring a plate is plenty enough.

D.D. dont feel bad, Brian and I went and bought brand new sunflower dinnerware to match the kitchen when we moved into this new house. What we had looked pitiful. BUT.....most of the time we STILL eat off of paper plates. With 4 kids, I stay stocked up with them.

Ya know, we thought about just not registering. I mean there are a few things I would like, new sheets and towels, a matching silverwear set..lol. But when I just bought a lot of the stuff I have in my apartment about 2 years ago. A lot of people told me though that you should just register. Just because you don't doesn't mean you'll get more money. People will just buy you whatever, which could be dangerous! You can always return things if you need to, but register for everything. It's a nice upgrade to some stuff.

Sorry I've been kind of gone the last week. We haven't registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (aside from online) yet. I did do quite a bit of online registering a couple of weeks ago. I'll get our china patterns up here shortly.
