I'm going to be having 3 or 4 different centerpieces for my tables. Since I couldn't sleep last night I put together some prototypes. Here's the first one...only try to picture it with red and white rose petals instead of just white ones, all the candles lit (was having a problemwith the wicks) and probably a different ribbon

here's the second one. With this one I was thinking instead of the small floating candles to have a large red floating rose candle and maybe red marbles instead of clear on the tray

Here's the last one... with this one I was thinking of winding a red ribon up the ornament stand with a small red ow tied at the top and some red rose petals on the tray.
So what do y'all think, should I change anything else on them? Thanks so much for your input

I really like those. You did a good job. Your have a Valentine theme wedding aren't you? I think I like the ornament the best.
That will look so good. It seems like you have taken basic ideas and really turned it into something unique. Great job!

I like the 2nd one the best! Just remember tea lights are only "on" for so long....I was in a wedding once and we had to run around and put new lights in twice during the night!

It's not supposed to be a valentine theme but since its on February 1st and my colors are red white and black then it will probably end up looking a little valentiney but no cupids or anything. I'm hoping that if I use floating rose candles instead of the hearts (I only used these cause I made them at 3 am and that was what I had in the house, comically they were left over from Valentines Day) it'll look less like a valentines party. My FH is very against Valentines Day (his adopted mother passed away on Valentines a couple years ago) so I'm trying to keep it from being to Valentiney (yes I know it's not a word but I like it)
Maybe if I use just ribon stripe holding the 3 vases together without the bow? Or maybe a little more modern and use black sand in the bottom of the tall vases with a submerged red rose and white floating disks? Hmmmmmmmmmmm looks like I need to go shopping this weekend. One cool thing so far though, except for the ornaments that I made, everything else in all 3 centerpieces was purchased at a dollar store :whoohoo:

I love the ornament. The stand for it is elegant and the different elements work well together. Unique and lovely! My second fave would probably be the bowls.
If you are worried about burn time you could go with electric tea lights. Inside of something you wouldn't be able to tell too much :)
This company makes some good looking ones!

Those are cute. You did a great job using the same elements in three different centerpieces so that they will all fit together.
Have you considered using submerged flowers?

I was thinking about using a submerged red rose in black sand, like the ones in these pics only substitue black sand for white sand and my vases are taller so I will have a longer stem showing.

Ohhhh - the sand idea is pretty cool!
I love the ornaments and if I hadn't just of bought Japanese lanterns to hang from the ceiling (which I think would clash - yeah?) I'd def. steal your idea!
