Ok. I need to get back on the wagon, here!!

I was doing really well there for awhile, but the last month or so, I've stopped trying at all to watch what I'm eating. And have made so many cupcakes, it should be illegal.

So I'm starting again tomorrow. And I thought posting here would keep me on the right track.

I don't really have a weight goal...I just want to fit into my old jeans. LOL

Since I don't have a real weight goal and don't know how much it'll take to get to my size, I'll start by saying I want to lose 10 pounds (though I imagine it'll be closer to 20!).

So here's my counter. I'll update daily on what I've eaten...and what exercise I've done (if any). I'll update the counter weekly.

Here we go!!!!!!!!! :whoohoo:

Welcome to the club. :hi:

I really do think about if I want to own up to eating that brownie on here or if I'd rather just skip it and look like a much better person eating some grapes. lol.

Good luck!!

What kind of diet you doing Cindy? It looks like low cal to me.

Yeah, pretty much...it's nothing specific. Mainly low cal. I am trying to stay away from a lot of carbs...but it's not the center of my diet.

I'm mainly trying to eat a lot more good veggies, eat less in quantity, stay away from fast food (today's dinner not included!), eat very few sweets (which is hard since I bake all the time), and drink TONS of water and no soda. And do some form of exercise every day of the week (weekends are up in the air...depends on what else we're doing.)

So far, so good, mainly. Next week should show a little more weight loss. Hopefully!

You could be building muscles, which weighs more than fat. That could explain why you didn't lose more weight.

I used to watch the food network a lot and there is this chef Juan Carlos, he specializes in low calorie diets. His recipes might be a great way to add variety to your menu (but your menu looks great as it is). I know I tend to get bored with my menu when I'm dieting. The first link is from his show Calorie Commando and the last one is Weighing In.

:whoohoo:

I was hoping you would react in that way. I felt a little odd posting but I figured you'd appreciate the links. I know getting bored with what you're eating can cause one to become frustrated with one's diet (and even cheat).

I noticed you're a fan of popcorn. I don't know what popcorn brand you use but Pop Weaver has only 30 calories per serving (total 2.5 servings), so only 75 calories for a whole bag of popcorn. Plus its safe from the specific ingredient that causes cancer.

:bblol: Well, we do air-popped, but not in anything fancy. I think it was $10 at Walmart. LOL

I used to LOVE microwave popcorn, too. I'd actually never eaten air-popped until I met FH. Nor had I had parmesan cheese on popcorn before him either. Now I'm totally addicted (as you can tell, seeing as we both had it for dinner last night instead of a real meal).

:whoa: Today was SO wrong. I may have gained all my weight back plus some. Not an easy day to be on a diet! FMIL and FSIL took me to the state fair. Ack! Fooood!!!! And then FH had a big seminar dinner at a chinese buffet. MORE FOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

So yeah. Don't gain weight reading this:

Breakfast
blueberry yogurt w/ oats

Lunch (at the fair)
fried stuffed olives (about 6 of them)
corn on the cob (had about 6 bites?)
greek gyro (had about 6 bites?)
2 fried green tomatoes

Man, I almost went to our county fair yesterday. lol. I'm probably going to be going next week so we'll see if I can out eat you! ;) Eating junk at a fair is practically a requirement anyway. I mean, who is gonna get a salad? Puh-lease! I'm still waiting to try that fried twinkie I've been hearing so much about!

Have you tried SparkPeople? It's an online site where you can track your food and exercise, etc. I haven't been on in ages, but when I was I found it really helpful. It's free, too!!

You can make your own groups and forum thing, which I did for another message board I used to frequent. :)

I knew I was going to have fried stuffed olives...it's my favorite thing there. But that's all I really WANTED to get. So I brought a baggie full of frosted mini wheats in case I got in a snacking mood.

:notsure:

Needless to say, I never even LOOKED at the frosted mini wheats as I was eating my weight in fried stuff.

I'm still waiting to try that fried twinkie I've been hearing so much about!

I haven't had that...but last year we had the fried Snickers! It was....well, just like it sounds. LOL

This year they had a fried smores - which sounds SOOOO good to me! Luckily, we didn't find it. :bblol:

By the way, I'm changing my official weigh-in day from Mondays to Fridays. I usually eat my only cheat/heavy meals on the weekend, so I end up gaining back a bit of what I lost during the week for a couple of days.

I know it doesn't matter, seeing as I'm watching inches too...but it'll help me feel better to weigh in after working my butt off during the week instead of after cheating on the weekend. :bblol:

Ok. I started that new job, right? THEY EAT ALL THE TIME!!!!!!! And they eat YUMMY bad-for-ya stuff. And it's FREE for me!

It's so hard to behave there. Needless to say, I've gained almost all my weight back. Almost...like...minus 2 pounds.

:notsure:

I think I'm going to go back to Weight Watchers. I LOVED it when I did it a few years ago. And it worked so well for me. So...I'm going to try and behave the rest of the week and then weigh in on Friday and adjust my ticker.

*sigh*

Back on the bandwagon again. This work thing is killing me! I have to start being good else I'll hate my engagement pictures! :bblol:

Ok, dang it. :bblol:

I wrote that last post and then just ate like a pig for a few more days. Tomorrow we're doing Thanksgiving at FH's parents house...and then after that, it's seriously crunch time!!

I've gained ALL my weight back now...especially since Thanksgiving. (MAN I ate a lot. Hehe!)

I printed out a picture of my wedding dress to hang on the fridge. I also put one of those achievement thermometer things on there with marks every 2 pounds so I can see it before I get into the fridge.

I bought some yummy protein powder from the nutrition shop (where I work), so I'm going to do at least one meal a day with that...maybe even two.

So yeah...I'm gonna kick some butt in the next couple of months! Starting SUNDAY!

:whoohoo:

Ya know I've never even been to a Panera Bread. I may have to give it a try! What kind of protein shake are you using? I need something healthier than a sugar filled granola bar when I'm on the run in the early morning. Don't use it to replace too many of your meals though!!

OMG you have to try Panera. I LOVE it!!! Of course, my favorite combo there is a turkey artichoke sammich with a side of broccoli cheddar soup. SO not the best thing for ya. :bblol: But even their healthy stuff is fantastic!!

The protein powder I use, I bought from the pharmacy I work in. (We sell all organic supplements, too.) It's called Jay Robb and the flavor is "dreamcicle". YUMMMMM! I mix mine with soy milk, 1 banana, and 1 container of yogurt. It's really, really good.

I normally won't have it for 2 meals...I just wasn't that hungry last night. Still stuffed from Thanksgiving, I guess. Heh!

Is it weird for you sometimes thinking about a big wedding and stuff considering how you felt before? I even told Erik when I first met him I wasn't ever going to get married. Then like a month into living with him I was like "I want to marry you, what's wrong with me?" lol.

Oh yeah...forgot to update.

Friday was my weigh-in day. I gained .2 pounds! Heheh!

BUT!!!!!! I lost another half an inch on my bust, half an inch on my waist, and half an inch around my belly (under the belly button). I'm stoked! I must be building muscle from working out because of my gain. Works for me!

I decided not to weigh in this week because of Valentine's Day. My weigh-in day is Friday and V-Day was Thursday, where I had tons of chocolate and cookies...even a donut...and then I got pizza, hot wings, and cheese sticks for FH that night. :bun:

I did sneak a peak on Wednesday and had lost a little over a pound...but I know I gained it back in that one day. Plus I've been sick and haven't been able to work out at all this week.

So......I'm not weighing again until NEXT Friday! LOL!

I did so so so so bad this weekend. :(

Thursday we had pizza. Friday I had leftover pizza. Saturday was sushi. And today we split some chicken fingers & mac&cheese at our favorite restaurant.....and then I made some bacon-wrapped little smokies (practice for the wedding, actually) and I ate about 8 of those!

I kinda want to barf I had so much grease in the last few days. I know I've gained a few pounds back. OMG. :purplex:

And, Keely, I saw a thing on the news tonight about the beef processing plants (a horrible video of treatment of sick cows) and it almost made me cry. I thought of you because I SOOOOO want to be a veggie. I normally only eat chicken and fish, but still....that made me want to eat NO meat.

*wimper*

I hope this week is better. At least I'm not sick now...I can actually make it to the gym!

None of these for me this week ----> :bun:

Or these -----> :cloppy:

LOL!

I feel ya on the oily ickiness. I am not feeling all that hot because of my recent food choices. I just sat down and planned out what I'm cooking for the next week so we can go grocery shopping tomorrow. But I also have to cook for a bake sale so much like your bacon wrapped little smoky eating, I'll be tasting the products to make sure that they turn out okay! :bbmad:

Wow, I'm surprised that was on the news. Interesting! I mainly ate poultry and seafood for a few years before I had a life altering experience that totally changed me to be a veggie. It was like this cosmic, stars aligning thing. It's weird how things happen!

Good luck making it to the gym this week and jump back on that diet bandwagon! Maybe after eating sooo bad, you'll be inspired to kick it up. I know that I am after my week!

TangoWedding

Wow, I'm surprised that was on the news. Interesting!

Well, the REAL story was about some meat plant going ahead and selling beef used with very sick (like, not even able to walk they were so sick) cows. They just showed hidden video that the humane society took of how they handled them. It was horrible, horrible, horrible.

I mainly ate poultry and seafood for a few years before I had a life altering experience that totally changed me to be a veggie. It was like this cosmic, stars aligning thing. It's weird how things happen!

The fact that you put a little :flopsy: symbol just about made me DIE laughing.

See what happened was...

I was on my way home from school late one night and I HIT a bunny! I got out of the car crying and ran over to it. It was all bleeding in the road and I swear it looked right into my eyes for a good ten seconds, limped over to the side of the road, and died. OMG. I went home to my loving puppies and kitty and decided at that moment that the bunny I hit was no different than my own pets or a cow or a chicken, etc. It's been almost a year and I haven't eaten meat! So yeah - most people wouldn't have been phased by that experience, but somehow it hit me so deeply inside and forever changed me!

TangoWedding
02-22-2008, 08:46 AM

:bblol: I spell it how I say it. Heheh!

Zumba is the best thing ever invented!!

It's an aerobics class, but it centers around latin dancing. We do salsa, merengue, bachata, cha cha, and a little bit of belly dancing. It lasts an hour.

It's sooooooo much fun! And everything I've read says that one Zumba class burns between 600 and 900 calories. It's a butt-kicker!

Um. Hi. Let's just ignore the fact that I haven't updated this post since day 81. :purplex: Errrrm....heh.

Today on the countdown is: 41 DAYS TO GO.

:ooh:

All I need to say to that is OH MY GOD!

Like woohoo said, tomorrow is a new day. I'm going back to Zumba this week and I'm going to try and start to behave again. (This weekend was scary, what with cheese fries and chicken fried steak and gallons of sweet tea and all that...eep!)

So yeah. I'm on it again. Starting tomorrow.

I had my dress altered already and can't lose MUCH more, but a good 10 pounds would be just right and would put me at goal. Mostly, I just need some toning, so I need to start working out and doing weights again. And I have a month and a half to do it in. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!!

Is it hard for you to fall asleep when you don't eat? My empty tummy keeps me awake! No matter how late it gets, if I'm hungry I have to eat to fall asleep well.

Have you ever tried cashew butter before? We've been getting it because it's so much cheaper than the almond butter at Whole Foods. It's good!

I haven't tried it, no. Aren't cashews pretty high in fat? I was just sticking with almond because 1) it was recommended to me by my Naturopath and 2) almonds are the 'good' nut.

It sounds SO good though...I can eat a ton of cashews!

Breakfast:

Lunch:
turkey sammich

Haha...love the dinner. :D

I don't think that cashews have much more fat than almonds, but they do have a gram or two more saturated fat per serving. We just can't afford the almond butter so we've been getting cashew rather than peanut butter just for a change. We've just been getting the raw whole almonds to cook with.
