I know that some of you may roll your eyes, but I want to know what everyone thought about her horrible experince last night on the VMA's if you watched it.
I was embarassed for her, it was just digusting..... She really has lost it..

I thought it was really really bad! You could totally tell she was lip sinking and her back up dancers were much better dancer then she was.

She was totally lost and nervous..Think it was a bad part on her managment to get her out performing. With all the drama in her life it was rushed too soon. She looked clearly uncomfortable. I was dissapointed at Rhianna for basically laughing in her face during the performance, that could be her one day. I was never a big brittney fan but I don't like to see anyone get humiliated especially with a million people watching.

But my personal opinion of her is that, at first it was kinda funny to see her shave her head and loose her mind but now... it is kinda just sad! Someone really needs to help her. I honestly feel bad for her - this behavior is OBVIOUSLY a cry for help!

Ok. That was just BAD. It looked to me like she just learned the moves that day. And, perhaps on a few pills.

Even *I* could have moved more than she did. Egads.

Poor lady. She just ruined what tiny shread of a career she could have had left.

Yea, my mom and I were talking on the phone and we were speechless. I mean it is not a HUGE deal as we all knew what she was going to be like. I just feel really bad for her. She ran off stage so fast and was so out of it. Very sad.

That is just not attractive. I mean she looks good with some meat on her bones.. But her outfit was NOT attractive. I kinda was hoping that she would bust out this really great song that was new and no one had heard and just blow everyone away. Unfortunately that will not happen. Did you see 50 cent and Diddy look disgusted??? It was just horrible.. Poor thing

At first I rolled my eyes at this topic and didn't really care, but I did watch the YouTube clip.

After weeks of buzz, an out-of-shape and out-of-touch Britney Spears took to the stage at the MTV VMA�s on Sunday with a disastrous comeback performance.

Kicking off the awards ceremony with her new single �Gimme More,� the troubled pop-tart looked unprepared and she walked through most of her performance with little enthusiasm.

Most of the celebrity filled audience, including 50-Cent and P-Diddy looked expressionless as the 25-year-old appeared to have forgotten the art of lip-synching.
Yeah, she looked pretty bad; herself and her performance. Would have been worse if she hadn't had back-up dancers ;)

I feel sort of sorry for her, from the sound of things in the news/tabloids, she is pretty troubled. But she has the money to get help, I hope she does.

But it is rare that pop stars last anyway ;)

I have never been a big Britney fan...in fact...I love to hate her. Part of me was hoping she was going to blow everyone away though. It was sad to see...she used to lipsynch like no other. She atleast always put on a decent performance. Very sad to watch someone like that. Her eyes were completely vacant.

Oh...and her extensions looked HORRIBLE...

The performance was bad. I feel sorry for her. I didn't think her body was bad, no it doesn't look like it used to but it wasn't bad. I don't know why she thinks everyone wants to see her only in skimpy clothes. GO BUY CLOTHES THAT FIT!

I didn't watch it last night but I watched it on youtube and that girl has gone down hill.. I honestly didn't ever like her personally but I useto like her music, but I mean WOW it's mind boggling that she would wear that out fit. It looks like she has to watch her dancers to see what dance move she is doing. I guess this is "supposely" why the performance is bad

THIS IS THE TRUTH ABOUT WHY BRIT FAILED TONIGHT...

Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took the stage. Want to know why? Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in which she calls Britney's babies mistakes and takes jab after jab at Britney.

Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about her kids, and MTV agreed.

Sam Lufti (VMA producer) was overheard backstage screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying: "Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants to get a laugh."

Perhaps this why Britney looked upset during her performance. Britney was seen backstage in Alli's arms crying about how cruel people can be to her babies.

While it is Silverman's job to get a laugh, it should not be at the expense of little babies. Your career must be hurting if you have to turn to bashing infants in order to gain a laugh.

Britney Spears was to perform under the magic of Chris Angel... but MTV freaked out at the last minute finding out what Britney was actually going to do.

Supposidly, what Britney and Chris were planning was to do a set of mirrors and flotation. But when told to the Palms Hotel/Casino... the hotel flipped.

Insurance was the main problem, and the stage couldn't support the performance. MTV also freaked at the last minute because of their fear of being "too controversial" during the performance. Britney and Chris were infact furious with MTV's sad excuse and told Britney to change the performance at the last minute.

Britney's original performance was to infact appear and disappear. To float through the air... and for much mature dancing

That thing about Sarah Silverman wouldn't surprise me if it was at least partly true; I am certainly not a fan of her. I think she goes too far to "get a laugh" She has a promo commercial for the new season of her show where she talks about killing her dog if you don't watch; I am sure it was went as a joke, but that is just not funny to me :snide:

But yeah, who knows what really went on; but Brittany is suppose to be a professional and should be able to preform at her best no matter what; that is what they pay her for. If she was that upset over whatever then she should have just went home.

I have to agree that her performance was lacking interest. She sucked really bad. I don't think she's fat...or anything. I think she looked good except for the outfit....she could have worn something that went better with her changed body.

It looked like she had to quickly learn the steps.....I know that she was supposed to do something with Criss Angel...but the VMA's cancelled that idea because of it being unsafe and for insurance reasons.

She needs to take a break and she needs to get her life on track...not only is she ruining herself she's only ruining the children.

Poor kids.

Never liked Brit. She's like Madonna except without all the things that makes Madonna worthwhile. For example, classiness and an attempt at making an intellectualized statement about society and its attitude towards sex. Remember the VMAs when Madonna and her dancers wore big powdered wigs and victorian garb? That was clever and classy. This VMA, and pretty much all the others I've seen from Britney, is just lights, skin, and trash.

Still, I felt bad watching this since I don't like seeing anyone being humiliated.

And btw, Brit looks pretty good for having a post-baby body. Heck, she looked really good in her pre-baby body. I hate the people are calling her chunky. Wtf. She put on a little weight; having a baby tends to do that. If people want to criticize her, how about criticizing the fact that she didn't have enough sense NOT to wear the bikini stilletto outfit?

I think Britney looked fantastic for having just had two babies. Her body was great, but her face and her eyes were just vaccant. She looked like she was on something or drunk. Reguardless if she was upset about the Silverman comment before going out, she was falling all over hte place and was totally lost. Poor thing, I just feel soo very bad for her

I don't think shes FAT, i mean she is bigger then she was before her 2 kids. but i don't think shes fat. But i don't think she shouldnt've worn that outfit bc she isn't the 6 pack lady she used to be AND bc it is so inappropriate!!! She doesn't have to dress like that. OR DANCE like that. All slutty. And she wasn't even dancing good. And her hair looks like ****.

Britney needs help. Anyone whose been put in her situation would. And no one likes Sarah Silverman. Why she's still even on tv bothers me so.....

Whether Britney's put weight on or even if she was 95Lbs soaking wet, she shouldn't be wearing those clothes period. No one should, esp someone in the spotlight and who claims to be a role model to children. And yet people wonder why 12 year old girls are walking around dressed like tramps it because of these so called superstars (who again claim to be rolemodels) are making these girls think that wearing revealing clothing and be super skinny is the only way to be. Well that, and the parents actaully buying this clothing for kids is worse.

Keeping in mind, this is all just IMO, I don't mean to offend or upset anyone.

She's fired the manager who made her a star because he wouldn't put up with her issues.
She's put distance between herself and her family.
She's surrounded herself with people who tolerate her trashy and outlandish behavior.
Regardless of the changes in the program - she had a chance to really come back strong in her industry and she blew it by not being ready to perform. You can't go out partying night after night and not pay for it.

She's fine weight wise, but she is definitely out of shape, she didn't practice like she used to, and whoever is coaching her on performances and costumes is taking her for one heck of a ride financially.

This may not be the final straw - we'll have to see what her new album does in sales, that will be the rest of the story.

You are all absolutely correct - this gal needs some help and soon - she's in a downward spiral that is totally out of control and the only silver lining is if she hits the bottom still alive, she might regain a viable life with something of value to offer the world. Right now, it's not worth alot from any perspective.

Her movie (Jesus Is Magic) is on constant rotation at my place. Even Mr.Tango, the ultimate conservative christian, thinks she's funny. Though he does have a little issue with her crudeness. :bblol:

Having kids is no excuse for not being in shape... Britney is young... As someone said in another forum: " Madonna is over twice Britney's age, and her 'comeback' performance at the 2005 VMA's was what comebacks are supposed to be all about. She's given birth twice (much later in life than Brit and therefore 'supposedly' less able to spring back as well). And yet? She looked AWESOME, performed with all the energy she had when she was 25. Her physique was matured, and yet she was in shape, what you'd expect from a superstar. It was obvious she was putting effort into her performance. She didn't lipsynch, either. Like most live singing, she was off in places and out of breath at times. She SANG. Madonna's had way more paparrazzi grief and turmoil than Britney, and yet how much longer and better of a career has she had? " Look at MADONNA and compare.........

Madonna was never out partying till all hours of the night with the likes of Paris Hilton and getting pictures of her with no panties on all over the tabloids either. She was just doing risque things on stage ;)

Brittany Spears is definitely no Madonna.
