Hi Everyone! I thought I'd share my story with you all...
I met my husband when I was 19 years old.. I had recently moved to Dallas to start a new life for myself.
Several months before my move I had been in an abbusive relationship and just needed to get out. A friend offered to let me come live with her and under the circumstances I decided that it was a good idea. Once moved I got a job at a local restaurant as a waitress along with my new roomate. One night her boyfriend came in with a friend of his. (My soon to be husband) She introduced me, we both said a quick hello and I went on about my business, being that I was at work! For the next two weeks she went on and on about us double dating. I was still recovering from my last relationship and was in no mood for dating! Finally just to make her quit bugging me I let her set us up. We went out the next weekend for some cofee and stayed so long they had to ask us to leave it was time to close! Little did I know he was tricked into taking me out also by his friends. He had just gotten out of a 7 year on and off relationship! Two months into our relationship (we were still taking it slow becaise of each others past) I tagged along during on of his business trips to St. Louis. The second night we were there we went for a walk around the park outside the hotel and it was there he told me for the first time he LOVED ME!!We dated for the next several years. He was more than welcome in my large family (5 Brothers and 2 Sisters)!
On our two year anniversary he told me to pack a bag we were going away for an extended weekend! I was so excited but very curious. We ended up flying to St. Louis. We had a suite and it was so romantic. I asked him why here and said it just brought back good memories. On the night of our anniversary he told me we had dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant for 7 o'clock so be sure to be ready (he knows me too well). We went down at 7 and the host said our reservations weren't till 7:30 and we'd have to wait so Nate said "lets take a walk then". I wasn't to excited about this being as I had on heals.. Not exactly walking attire. We left and started walking in the park around the hotel and it was so nice out! There were people walking up and down the path, dogs playing with their owners, and people reading books and papers on the the benches (even though it was dark.. I thought that was odd!) We went halfway down the path and he stopped and hugged me and said how much he loved me and got down right there and proposed! I was so shocked!!!! I was balling my eyes out. Then he picks me up and swings me around in a big hug and I look over his shoulder to see the people on the benches take down their papers ... low and behold it was my parents and my youngest brother whom I'm closest to! I was in complete shock. I could not stop crying for an hour. It was so nice to know that he took so much planning in flying my family out just so they were there.
We recently moved to Arkansas from Dallas and are starting our new lives. We married in May and have been loving life ever since!!!!
