Ok..i have the same prob..Im italian so my hair is not gorgeous..What you can do is get a frizz tamer..Leave it long Or half back..Sometimes an updo id beautiful if the curl inn the do is done just right..For exanple, with durly hair you would not do a french twist...You would do a lose, updo..I'll post pics of what i mean..Me, personally, Am going to leave my hair down...For the simple reason it looks like :censored: up..Heres the pic of the hairstyle that i am going to wear...Click on link to view.....

Do you use any mousse or gel? That frizz ease stuff is great too.

I use the no-frizz stuff from Aussie. Smells great and my curls are sooo soft. Especially if i can air dry my hair. I love it!

When I had my hair permed I used to have to use a diffuser on my hairdyer. I could never dry my hair all the way or comb it when it was dry either or it would be frizzy. Have you ever gone to a stylist and asked them what you should do?

Wow, can't really give any input here...my hair is STRAIGHT and always has been (ok, I had end curls when I was little but when my aunt hacked off my hair, she hacked them off to). A perm is a waste of money for me because after a week, it will be gone. Nothing stays in my hair very long. I've resigned myself to that fact and chose a base style that's kind of straight.
Good luck on picking something for yourself. Talk to your stylist, have them play around with it...bring in some pictures of things you like and just let her (or him) have fun with it. That's really what I'm going to do. I mean, you might as well get SOMETHING for your trial do. It's a lot of money.

I have frizzy hair too. My advice would be to keep it well moisturized that will prevent a lot of the frizz. Keep it at a medium length. If it too short it gets curly, if too long if gets frizzy. Never ever ever miss a 6 week hair cut. Split ends breed frizz. I used Paul Mitchelle Awapuhi shampoo and conditioner every day. Once a week I use Neutrogena Clarifying Shampoo and Neutrogena 60 second hair mask. Every other week I do an oil treatment. Then to style I used Frizz Ease serum and Thermosilk gel to control things. If I am going out and want some volume (someone explain how I have wavy/frizzy hair that is totally flat?) I use Physician's Formula volumizing foam (mousse). Also try investing in a good ionic hair dryer. (Mine was only like $25 at Target)
Here are a few styles that I am considering.

I also have curley hair. I would recommend going to the salon before hand and get them to play with hairstyles to see what you would like. There are alot of great products out there. salon quality flat irons with the right products work great straighten it and add a soft curl.( if you are wanting to wear it down)I recommend for the frizzy hair its called "silk therapy" in salon. I also recommend cat walk shampoo and conditioner "curls rocks" Also "funky gunk" that works. Its a balm and it helps tame frizzys ( I suggest going to a salon and investing in good product) It lasts a long time. Good luck!!!

I would use a large barrel curling iorn to define and perfect you curls...if you aredoing an updo, keep iy loose do not attempt to make it llok smooth by tightening it back..Ot will break your ends and make the whole style flop..

My hair is not completly curly but it is wavy so I'm going with an updo to keep it nice and neat. I want tight neat curls. Here is a pic of what I think I'm going to do.

I am a hair designer and I do lots of updos for weddings. I have curly hair also. what you need is curl defining shampoo and conditioner. the professional line MATRIX is what i use. It is called curl life. that will help with the frizz. also, the sleek look styling cream in the matrix line is a good cream to help with frizz also. now for the updo, work with the curl. Use a diffuser on the end of the blowdryer to help define curl. just do flat twists in the front, and all around if you want it all up. I would also encourage you to go to a salon and have a stylist work with it to see what works best and what you like.

I too have thick, wavy, sometimes frizzy hair, so I want an updo and this is what I was planning on using:
