My life on a hard drive is GONE!!!

So I was looking for some older pictures of FH and I to put on our wedding site. Most of the older pictures were not digital, but I scaned them in a few years ago since we moved almost every year till now and my pictures were always getting lost through each move. So I back everything on an external hard drive. And it is DEAD :urgh: I have tried everything, It just keeps clicking. I feel so dumb too, cause FH kept telling me to back up everything with an online storage company. UGG!! And it was not only just my pictures but EVREYTHING!!! My important docs, all my projects from school and all my side work files. (luckly nothing for my current job, they have a server that I am required to use for this very reason) I am mostly sad about all the pictures are lost! :sob: It sucks too because any of my repeat clients for my side work, I will have to start their projects over from scratch and re-collect logos, colors, fonts ... it is so poopy!!! It is my own fault, but I just needed to vent. FH works in IT and did everything he could but the platters are broken.

We had that problem once and we learned it was the case, not the hard drive, if you have another external hard drive case you might want to try that one.

Well nuts, nevermind, I missed the part wher you said the platters are broken.

I've had the exact same thing happen ! My heart aches for you - I had every single password, account number for everything I owed/used and it just made me sick to my stomach when I lost it.

There are some services that can get some of the data back for you, if not all of it. Try calling your local computer stores - or if you have a Geeks On Call, they might be able to help you.
