I have to say that married life is just wonderful. We have been doing a lot more things together, like going for walks in the park and talking about our day. I love how my hubby enjoys trying out new things and going to different places around the world like me.
We are planning a road trip to Canada for our first anniversary, as some of you know, and my hubby is so excited about it. I love traveling and I'm starting to think he does as much as I do. We want to do and see so much before we start our family.
Everything has been going well since we got married. I am starting a new job at a prestigious university, where my hubby goes to school and works. We get to see each other more often now, yay! I am doing administrative work and I plan on pursing my Master's within the next year. I'm thinking about getting an MBA in Managerial Sciences. One day, I'd like to have my own stationery business. I absolutely love stationery! My hubby thinks I should start my own business now, but I think I should wait until we're financially stable. When he graduates in a couple of years with his Docorate's in Computer and Electrical Engineering, he'll get recruited to a job and will be making 6 figures. He'll be a Dr. at 27, so impressive to me! We plan on getting our first house after he graduates. I can't wait!
This Friday, my hubby and I are going to a bbq and to the Braves game. We like going to baseball and hockey games. That's all for now. I'll be back soon with more updates. :p

I forgot to tell you all - we get our professional pictures in about 4 weeks. Our photographer will post a video of the best pics to our song that was played during our first dance. He'll also post pics on his website (pics that he thinks were the best); he likes to touch up pics and add some special effects sometimes. I'll post the links soon! :D

oh geez, well I had my uncle take our photos who is a photographer and he took over 1,000 photos. From rehersal, reception, ceremony. It took me over a month to find pictures I wanted him to put into an album, but it was SO much fun. I cried during the whole thing hahaha

He was a champ. He took pictures of every piece of food on table for the rehearsal. He took pcitures of EVERY table at the reception, every angle and everything. He is amazing. So we had SOO many that we didn't need or want, but it was still fun to look back on them!!

wow today is your one month anniversary!!!
Yeah, I know! I didn't even think of it until my hubby brought it up! We went to an italian restaurant last night and rented "House", our favorite show. It was a nice 1 month anniversary. :D
I have been so much happier at my new job. I carpool and eat lunch with my hubby everyday. It is so nice having him so close to me! He's in a different building on campus, but he's not far from me.
This weekend we are going to the Blue Ribbon Fair and my work's picnic. The picnic will be catered and will be held at a park near the city. There will be all sorts of good food and an ice cream bar! :D

My photographer told me that he won't have our pictures ready for 2 more weeks. I wish he'd at least give us a sneak peek of them. Oh well, gotta be patient.
This weekend, my hubby and I are going shopping. He really needs some new jeans. He's been wearing the same 2 pairs for about 7 years!!! I need some fall/winter clothes. I've had the same clothes for years too. I loooooooooove to shop but don't get to that often.
Shopping is so much fun! :whoohoo:

I haven't written in my journal in so long! Chris and I have been having up's and down's in our marriage. I show obsessive behavior and he has his bad habits, but together we are working things out. I have to say that I have a sickness, being compulsive about such things, like washing my hands too much or using way too much toilet paper. I'm getting better and Chris is getting better at his breaking his bad habits.
Our 1 year anniversary is coming up in August, yay! We are planning a 10 day road trip to Montreal and Mont Tremblant, Canada. It will be great to get away and spend time together. We love traveling and seeing new places. I am starting to collect snow globes. I have 3 so far, 1 from Disney World (Orlando), and the other 2 were gifts. I hope to get a few in Canada and in other states.
Here's the bed and breakfast we'll be staying at in Mont Tremblant:
http://www.tremblante.com/homeanglais.html (http://www.tremblante.com/homeanglais.html)
I love b&b's! I'm dying for crepes! I only had a crepe one time, in French class in the 5th grade, it was sooooooo good! It's like a really thin pancake and you put toppings on it, I like it with strawberries. I am so excited about our trip. I'll take lots of pictures and post them on here.
I'm getting ahead of myself. So for Valentine's Day, since my hubby has been working his butt off writing his proposal and researching, I'm going to send him flowers (for the first time) and take him to lunch. We work at the same place so it works out perfectly. He'll be so surprised!
That's all for now. I'll write again soon! :)
Ups and downs...I know that the best marriages go through them. Atleast you both know that there are things that you need to deal with and are helping eachother.
The B&B seems fantastic. I so love B&Bs, but I haven't been to one in years. In fact, I haven't ever been to one with Chad - only with my parents so many times growing up. I'm sure that next time I am able to go I will appreciate B&Bs for a completely different reason!
Oh my gosh, you've been holding onto a love of crepes since 5th grade? Haha. That's awesome! I love 'em too! My fav is filled with Nutella, whipped cream, hazelnuts, AND strawberries. Yum, yum! We make them at home every once in a while on a whim. Hmmm I need to come up with something to make Chad for VDay breakfast. That sounds like a possibility. Good luck with your VDay. Sounds like it will be lovely.

I think we'll go out to dinner. I've got a new sexy black silky/lace dress that I've been wanting to wear since December. Hubby was acting weird today. When we were talking on the phone, I heard his blinker (I know he was driving), but he said he was in bed. I think he's up to something! :D

Yeah time does fly by. That is so exciting that you and your hubby are going to try for a little one soon. We want to have kids too, not any time soon though. I'm thinking once we settle into a house, get a puppy, and have stable careers, we'll start our family.

This past weekend was great. I needed some work pants so Chris and I went shopping. We stopped by Game Stop to look for a Wii. They didn't have any but said they'd get a shipment in the following week. It's $250 for a Wii which is a lot of money to us poor people, but we want one so bad! I get a big raise in the end of May, so maybe we can get one then.
I'm at work right now and very happy because my boss called in sick. :) Chris and I are going to Jason's Deli for lunch, love their broccoli-cheese soup and Club Royale sandwich. Oh and I almost forgot, I have to call the courthouse today about jury duty. Yep, I got a summons in the mail, but I'm on standby status so hopefully they won't choose me!
For my next post I'll give you the details about our road trip to Canada, coming up this August, yay!
Oooh fingers crossed for the Wii. I will come up with a way to get Chad one for his 21st bday in August. I will employ the help of every single person that I can think of to help me do it! Wii bday fund! That will be fun...you can splurge a just a little with that raise! What's the point in a raise if you can't enjoy it just a little?!
Have a great day going for lunch. Sounds delish! I don't know if I've ever been to a Jason's Deli, but there are tons of them around and I've always meant to give it a try. And good luck getting out of that jury duty.
Can't wait for the road trip details. What a blast!

ohh a Wii, I want one too... Hope you are able to get one. They are a lot of money but I have heard they are totally worth it!!
Summons to appear in court, yuck. Hope it does not take up to much of your time!
Did I hear road trip? Do tell!
Yay, you got the Wii! I hope that you have tons of fun with it!

Waiting for jury duty was horrible! I just sat around with close to 200 people and waited from 8 am to 2:30 pm. I wasn't picked, thank goodness! Lunch was yucky, I had noodles with some brown sauce and meatballs. Well, at least I get a $25 check in the mail soon.
Ouch - long day. Sorry! Ya know my mom loved jury duty and hoped to get picked! Haha. The $25 is a plus though!

I just had jury duty this past fall....what an experience! The guy on trial was up against 1st degree murder! That is odd having that person look at you.

I'd die if I had to be a juror on a murder trial, so scary! Hope I don't get a summons again. I've gotten a summons when I was 18 and now 26. And in 2 different states! I got the $25 check in the mail a few days ago, so that made me happy, heheh.

This may come to you as strange, but my hubby and I love going to Petsmart and we don't even have a pet. We like watching the kitties and doggies play. The lizards are fun to watch too. Can't wait to get a dog, Siberian Huskie or Jack Russel Terrier is what we want.
Ok, I also have to admit that I love shopping and I don't get to go a lot because we're poor, but because we're getting back a big tax refund, Chris said it would be okay if I go shopping but to not spend a lot. I had told him that my boss wants to go shopping with me when she gets her refund, so I think he wants me to go and enjoy my shopping, heheh. I thought that was sweet of him because he knows I love to shop but can't because of having no money (we do but we're saving for trips, etc.). Anyways, I'm really happy that I get to go shopping soon. Spring clothes are so pretty, love the pastel colors.
I totally understand going to Petsmart just for the heck of it. It's a fun, happy place! Chad would love a siberian huskie and I would love a jack russel!
It's awesome that you're going to be able to do some shopping. Every girl needs that once in a while. :flower: I bought one shirt today and I was really a little too happy about it! :bblol: Chad is the only one who has a job so he's the money maker. I kept telling him "thank you" over and over for getting me the shirt!

I'm making more than twice what Chris makes, but that's because he's a grad student. In a couple of years, he'll be making good money. I don't have to ask him to shop but he really doesn't like when I spend a lot of money. I don't anymore though. :) I get excited when I buy one thing too, hehehe.
Looks like we're buying a Wii next Friday. Game Stop is getting a shipment in that afternoon and the cashier said we gotta be there right when they get them in because they usually sell out in half an hour. Crazy! So we both get what we want - he gets a Wii (although I want one too) and I get a mini shopping spree.
Man, it seems like everybody is getting a Wii! Fun stuff!

02-24-2008, 11:18 AM
We're going shopping today, wuhooooooo! I asked Chris if he'd go with me and he said okay. We're bad, when I try on clothes, he goes in the fitting room with me, heheheh. One time a sales lady told him he couldn't go in the fitting room with me, so funny.
Keely, I love your new black shirt, very nice. :) Maybe I'll post some pics of me in my new clothes. Well, we're about to leave. Let the shopping begin!

ahh hahaha that is soo funny that the lady told you he couldn't go in. Nick goes in with me all the time he just sits there. He feels ackward waiting outside when I want to show him anyway. We have gotten yelled at, so he sits indian style and that way no one see's his legs. hahahaha to funny though

We had fun shopping last Saturday. I got 2 pairs of shorts, 2 t-shirts, and a nice shirt for work. I plan on going shopping again soon, it's so much fun! Chris was great too, he practically went in circles while I scoped out all the clothes in different stores, heheh. He really is wonderful. Oh and NicksBride, we went into a fitting room when the saleslady wasn't looking, hahah! We were a little naughty too! :bbeek: :bblol: We didn't have sex or anything but we did mess around. I love doing spontaneous things like that, lol!

Lol, you guys are crazy. I wanna go shopping! The last time I bought a shirt was a couple weeks ago and that was only because it was on clearance for like $8. That reminds me...I don't know where it is! LOL. I haven't even taken it out of the bag I don't think.

Chris is picking up a WII today, wuhooooo! We are so excited, oh my gosh, you can play all the Mario Brothers games, I want to play the first one! I'll take pictures of our new WII. Annnnnnnd, I'm going shopping tomorrow at the Mall of Georgia and Nordstrom's Rack. The MOG is a pretty good mall, lots of good stores. Nordies (The Rack) is one of my favorite stores because everything is a lot cheaper than at Nordstrom's. This weekend is going to rock! Man I sound like a teenager, heheh. Oh! My cousin just had her first baby yesterday. Everything went well, she didn't suffer at all, thank goodness. I'll be back soon! :)
PS Chris won't be shopping with me this time, so unfortunately no getting frisky, lol!

Chris didn't get a Wii yesterday because the GameStop he went to did not receive any Wiis in their shipment. The Wiis should be in their shipment today. I have to call a bunch of stores and find one really soon, we want one so bad!
Oh and about my little shopping sprees, Chris doesn't want me going every weekend. I really wasn't planning on going every weekend. I went last weekend and 2 weeks before that, so guess I need to calm down and wait a while, hehehe. He's right, I don't want to be spending money all the time, it's not good. We'll be getting our tax refund soon, we're putting it towards our trip and are paying a big chunk of our credit card bill. I think I can use a little towards shopping too. :)
Oh no...I hope you get your hands on that Wii soon!

This Friday is the graduate students recruitment dinner (at my job). I want to go but Chris said "No thanks". Maybe I'll go by myself and meet my colleagues there. The food is supposed to be really good and the place we're eating at is very nice, the Alumni House. I don't know, should I go?

Well, I didn't go to the dinner last Friday because I wasn't feeling too well and plus I wanted to be with Chris. We had a good weekend. We ate at Chili's, went to the mall, played some Wii, and I did some scrapbooking. I still haven't finished my wedding scrapbook. Hope to finish it this weekend. I haven't been shopping in about 3 weeks now. I plan on going this weekend. I really need some new clothes. I gotta make sure I don't splurge though, heheh. I bought a bra at Target yesterday, love that store. For work or casual clothes, I usually shop at Penney's or Macy's. Always good sales at those stores.

I would love to get a scrapbook started, but it takes so much money for all the neat things! I wanted to make one for my parents of childhood pics of my siblings and me. I might sneak some out of their house. Lol. And I like shopping at JC Penney. Chris's mom got me a $100 gift card for their for Christmas because I asked for one, and I haven't used it yet! I'm supposed to use it for dress clothes and stuff, just haven't found anything I like this time. I try to stay in the Juniors section but there isn't really anything good their right now...or that I'd wear.

I'm going shopping on Sunday. :) I'm so excited spring is almost here, the white blossom trees are blooming now. Pretty soon there will be lots of different colored flowered trees in our apartment complex. When I first moved here, I had never seen anything like that before. Spring time is so pretty here.

I've decided to cut off my mom and possibly her family too. I just can't take it anymore. She won't grow up and realize I am married and have a more important person in my life now. If you haven't seen the email she sent me, here it is:
Dear Bernadette--
I would also like it if you would call me too and not
blame me if you are unhappy.
I am always here for you, and always have been. Before your wedding, you called
and emailed everyday-- after that-- I got a letter saying that you were not
coming for Christmas-- and no Christmas present--
I call you-- and your phone is turned off.
That sends the message that you don't want to talk to your family.
It seems that you got upset when I offered to fly you
up for a visit. Wow, what a mean gesture! Before you could think about it, you said no.
My mom said that you told her that me and you don't talk because
I wont listen to you talk about "you and Chris" Why would you say that?
you have never talked about you and Chris, other than " we went to the park,
we went out to eat.. etc.. You can always call your mother-- I always have
my phone on. Bernie, if you are unhappy-- you should call people.
Don't blame others for your unhappiness.
PS-- If I waited for my parents to call me, I would be waiting a long time.
So, I pick up the phone and call them-every 2 days
-because I want to hear their voice--
How is Dolores? I bet you talk to her all of the time.
That is your choice.
Hope to see you at Christmas.
Love you,
Mom
She is still the same, selfish. She can't see things but her way. It's sad but in order for me to lead a happy life, I can't see her being in it. :purplex:

Well ladies, my mom totally missed the point of my email and once again emailed me back about herself, not caring at all about my feelings. Here are the last 2 emails, the first one I wrote. Be prepared, it's ugly.
----
I am happy, happier than I have ever been in my life. Chris treats me right and we have a close relationship. It seems like you are the one who is not happy. And what is this about not getting a Christmas present?? You know that Chris and I are struggling financially. He is in school and I am supporting us. We did not get anyone Christmas presents last year, only for each other. That is very selfish of you to expect gifts from us. I don't expect anything from you.
And about calling me, I hardly ever turn off my phone. Just because I don't always answer my phone doesn't mean I won't call you back, I always call you back. You just don't want to call me because you expect me to call you. I don't call the family much anymore because I am married and have my own life to live. Chris hardly ever calls his parents, but they call him about once a month and they just want to chat, and they don't get mad that he doesn't call them a lot because they know he is busy and has a wife now.
And about coming to visit you, I am not a little girl anymore, I'm not just going to come see you at the drop of a hat because you want me to. I am married and have a real career now.
What Grandma told you was a lie. I wouldn't believe everything she tells you, she likes to exaggerate and make things up. She has told me things, that I cannot repeat, that are absolutely absurd. And no, I don't talk to Mimi a lot anymore. She usually calls me about once a month now. Dad called me on Saturday because there was a tornado about 3 miles from us the night before. He was concerned and was being a good parent by checking on me.
I wish you would understand how selfish you are being. Everything has always been about you and still is. Well, I've got news for you, it's about me now and what I want. I'm not going to call you every week. I'll call you when I feel like calling you. Maybe you should stop calling your parents so much and let them call you. You're just doing what they want (like what you ask of me). You shouldn't worry if they don't call you a lot, eventually they will.
Oh and other things that have bothered me so much - the night before my wedding, you had the nerve to ask me to get some beer for you and your family, that was really selfish. You didn't even think that I needed to get some rest before the next day, but instead you were thinking about yourself and what you wanted. And on the day of the wedding, you showed up 30 minutes before the ceremony. You didn't see me get ready, didn't get any pictures taken with me, it's like you didn't care at all. That was important to me, I needed my mom that day, but you weren't there and that hurt. And complaining about the weather at the rehearsal, blaming me for not sitting with you and your family at Dave and Buster's, like I said it's about your needs. I spent time with you at the rehearsal and at Outback, I didn't get to talk much to Dad or his family that day. And not paying for half of our wedding, when you gave me your word you would, that was low. I wish you would realize that you need to stop focusing so much on you and your needs and take a look at other people's needs, like mine. I'm your daughter, if you think I'm unhappy (which I'm not), wouldn't a mother find out what was wrong with her daughter and try to make her feel better? I just don't feel like your my mother, you're more like a friend. I want you as a mother first and a friend second. Why is it always about you and what you want? That is a serious problem, especially if you have children.
I don't even want to come see you for Christmas. I wanted to see Grandma and Grandpa, but I really don't know if we're coming now. That's another thing, when I come to visit you and your family, I have fun with Grandma and Grandpa but with you and Cody, it's different. You two don't care what other people want, you have to get what you want. I hate that, it's just beyond selfish. I remember, at the cabin we used to go to, I was brushing my teeth one morning and you got upset because I wasn't done when you got in there, so you wanted me to hurry up and you started complaining. Or when Uncle Jack forgot his wallet at the cabin, and you and Cody started complaining because you didn't want to drive back, that is insane! Do you understand what I mean now? I'm not going to put up with this anymore. I cannot be around selfish people. If you want to have a good relationship with me, you need to change. And don't throw this back at me saying how I'm so unhappy and depressed, that is **** and you know it. I think you're trying to hide your feelings. What happened to you when you were growing up? Were Grandma and Grandpa bad parents? I want to know why you are like this. I'm not talking to you on the phone because I know you'll just blow up at me like you always do.
----
Bernadette--
You are a disrespectful little child-- and I am glad that you are happy
with your life. I was not driving the car the day of your wedding-- PS,
you told us to be there at 11:30-- how dare you talk to me that way.
Get your *** in church and remember to "honor your father and mother".
I do not want to talk to you for a long time-- you have a lot of
growing up to do. How dare you talk that way to me and your family.
We have been there for you for many years-- way before your "new life and
new family"
Your email is very hateful and ungrateful. Your not sending me a x-mas gift
was your way of showing anger-- you have always sent me a gift.-- even when you
didnt have a job-- you made me something. I sent you plenty of money/gift cards
-- it doesn't matter-- I felt what you were dishing out.
I paid for half of your wedding. We sent you the last check remember???
We split the costs with Chris's parents-- PS-- you were soo unhappy the night
of your wedding-- you looked like you could loosen up a bit with your
Uncles that you never see-- that is why I asked you to go get some beer.
that was your choice--
That is soooo tacky Bernie--
I know that you are going to Canada and Texas-- and this little fit of rage
you are having is definitely going to come back and bite you.
I don't even have words to talk to you.

Hm...how is not sending a Christmas gift showing anger? Lol. If you can't afford it then you can't afford it! I know what that's like! My aunt came home from AZ for my wedding that whole week (before), and she acted like it was her week like it usually is when she comes home. I would have some things to vent about that too. But I don't know what to say about not talking to you mom, I talk to my mom almost every day.

That's great that you talk to your mom almost everyday. As you can see, with my mom, it's always about her. My boss and I talked about it and we think she didn't get the attention she needed from her mom when she was growing up, so she's trying to get that attention from me. I really think this is the case. My grandparents weren't all warm and fuzzy with my mom and her two brothers, from what I was told. My mom won't talk about it though, she's in denial. I will send her cards for her birthday and Christmas, so she knows I love her, but I have to keep my distance from her so I don't get hurt anymore.

Wow, I am so sorry that you have to fight with your family about such petty things as christmas presents.
I am not really sure what to say, other then i am sorry, it is nice to have someone you love like Chris though right? Who will be there for you when your family may not be. Its does not sound like it is easy, I just hope that down the road it can be patched up. Good luck sweetie

I actually stopped talking to my parents for several months. THings still weren't working out even after 7 months of not talking. Sometimes you just need to establish a sense of independence.
I feel soo bad for you cause I know how this feels for you cause I've been there...It's never fun.

I finally finished our wedding scrapbook, yay! It looks very elegant.
Things are going pretty well. I'll be getting a promotion in late May, a $5,000 to $7,000 raise, wuhooooo! Chris is working on his proposal and is doing well in school. I'm so proud of him.
We are going to the Renaissance festival this weekend, should be lots of fun. I'm going to take pictures and post them on here.
I can't wait until August. Love taking road trips with Chris. We entertain each other and have fun going to new places. Only 4 months away, wuhoooooo!

Wow - that promotion is not very far away!! Woo hoo!

I forgot to mention that I plan on going back to school to get my MPA (Master of Professional Accountancy). I am going to take a GMAT prep course, then the test, so I might not actually get accepted until the spring of '09. I'm so excited, I miss sitting in a classroom and learning.
It seems like so many people on here are going back to school. That's very exciting!

This weekend, Chris and I are going to ride our bikes and go to the bookstore. I'm going to buy the GMAT book and start studying for the test. I plan on taking a prep course this summer, if we can afford it! I love the weather now, in the 70s and sunny and it's cool at night. But, the bugs are starting to come out, found a hairy one this morning in our bathroom, one of those centipedes, with too many legs! Yuck! I have to clean our apartment this weekend too; it hasn't been cleaned in over a month. :purplex:

Well, I'm getting promoted next week, wuhooooo! Chris has been reading lots of papers...hope he starts writing his proposal soon, I'm so impatient! We've only been here in Atlanta for a couple of years, but it seems like longer. We want to move so bad. He's really set on moving to Canada. I'm for that or New York. We like the city-life, but also like the country-side too. As soon as he finishes his proposal, he should only have about a year or year and a half of school left. So exciting! He said that when he gets his real career, if I want, I can take off work for a couple of years to go to school full-time. He's so sweet. I hope to go back to school by next spring/summer. I'll be applying to Georgia State's MPA (Master of Professional Accountancy) program. I've been studying for the GMAT. I hate tests, especially long tests.
Things are going well for us. We'll be going on our road trip to Canada in just 2 months, yay! :)

Things are going well. I have been studying hard for the GMAT and Chris has been drafting his proposal for school. Work has been okay but things could be better (our office manager should not be an office manager because she never manages and our head boss just doesn't seem to care what's going on). I'm just trying to think positively and not get caught in the middle. My boss and I do talk about problems with the office and she has talked to the head boss about it, but things never seem to change. I can't wait to get out of here! Just two years left! The plan is to take classes, starting next summer, while I work full-time. Hubby will finish school in two years and then we will move! I'll have to find a good school to transfer to. We're leaning towards Manhatten. We love the city-life. We would probably live there a number of years, then move somewhere suburban to raise our kids. But that's not for a lonnnnnnnnnnng time, lol!
Speaking of kids, I really want to go off the pill because I have no sex-drive, besides than when I'm my period, but Chris is afraid if I do that, I'll get pregnant. I told him we could use condoms, but he didn't like that idea. I don't either; it just doesn't feel the same. So, I guess I gotta be on the pill for another couple of years.
We haven't been spending much in the past few weeks. We just go out to eat once a week now. I haven't been shopping in a couple of months, miss it so much. We are trying to lower our credit card debt, and I think it's working. As soon as we pay it down to zero, I can get my own credit card...:bbeek: I think I can restrain myself from going overboard. I just love shopping so much, not just for me, but for hubby too. I usually don't buy a lot at one time. I only have three gifts to get for Christmas: Chris, Mom, and Chris' parents. We just can't afford to buy everyone else gifts.
Well, gotta get back to work now. I can't believe November is less than two weeks away. The days go by so fast. Gotta live each day to the fullest and be happy. :)

Happy early Thanksgiving, everybody! Hope you have fun with your family and friends. Chris and I are going to Boston Market for Thanksgiving. We don't have any family here in Atlanta and we can't afford to go see them, so we're staying here.
Good news! Chris is finishing drafting his proposal and will meet with his professor next week to make sure it is feasible. He and his prof think Chris should take a shorter path, so that is what he's going to do! If everything works out with his draft, he'll be presenting his proposal in no time. If his proposal isn't feasible, he'll have to start from scratch. But that won't be the case. His idea is original and challenging and he's done a lot of work. I am very proud of him.
Chris keeps talking about living in Manhatten. I'd love to live there too, but he would probably have a hard time finding a job because he's an electrical/computer engineer. We really like the city-life. It'd be a dream to live in Manhatten; who knows, it might come true!
I'm just so excited about our future. We are happy with our lives now, but we will probably be happier having a house, great jobs, and good place to live. Atlanta is not bad, but we want to live in other states/countries. We've lived in the south (Texas and Georgia) for 27 years, so we want a change. We love snow and mountains. He lived in Massachussetts for 7 months and said the snow wasn't that bad. I know we could get used to it.
That's all for now. Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

The GMAT is the Graduate Management Admission Test that I have to take to get into grad school. It's about 3.5 hours long and consists of quantitative, verbal, and essay sections. I've been studying for about 5 months now, so I definitely feel prepared. I've taken 4 practice tests and have scored 40 or more points higher with each test I've taken. I am taking the last practice test next weekend. The test is on Monday, January 12th. I'll know my quantitative and math scores right after I take the test. GA State will then accept me for the summer semester and I'll be on my way to getting my MPA, then my CPA!!!! :)

Well, I didn't do as well as I thought I would on the GMAT. I won't be accepted into the MPA program, but I will be accepted as a postbacc (one who has a degree, who is taking classes as a non-degree student). I can start taking undergrad accounting courses this summer. I have about 10 courses to take. I'm on the right path, so everything is good. If I do well in my accounting courses, MPA admissions will overlook my GMAT score and accept me. I'm just glad I can start school in June! I haven't been in school since December of 2005. I haven't posted here in forever! Update:
I start my accounting classes in three weeks. I have been contacting grad admissions staff at the five grad schools I'm going to apply to: Bentley Univ, Boston College, Northeastern Univ, Univ of Rochester, and Georgia State Univ.
Chris has about a year and half left until he graduates with his Ph. D., wuhoooooooo! He's been working hard on his proposal and should be presenting soon.
I had the basal cell skin cancer (non-life threatening kind) removed and now I am cancer free! Getting the stitches out tomorrow.
Chris and I usually go on vacation in the summer, but we can't afford to this summer. We plan on going to Disney World and the beach in Florida next year sometime. ***Any suggestions for less crowded beaches would be appreciated.***
My mom was laid off twice this year. She has been unemployed for three weeks now. Hope she gets a job soon.
My dad has not called me in three months. The last time I talked to him was on his birthday in February. I've decided to let him call me. When I call him, he is inconvenienced and talks to me for about five minutes. It's time for him to grow up and realize he has not just two kids, but three, me.
