My grandparents have a cat named Buddy. And they have had him since he was a tiny baby. He is an outdoor cat and they will sometimes let him inside. Well they just recently had a courtyard build in their backyard. So there was ALOT of construction for like a month. And ever since that started happening, Buddy hasn't been coming around. During this time we know he was coming in the garage at night to eat cause his food was gone and one night my grandma saw him in the garage eating. So they have seen him a few times at night time only. We think he is scared of the construction. But anyways so the construction has been over for like 2 weeks now and still no Buddy(just missing food at night) so my grandma made the cat door lock so he could get in but not get out. And this morning he was in the garage crying because he wanted out so bad(SO SAD) so they let him in the house, and just was not the same. He rubbed up against my grannys legs, but just was not acting the same. They said something looked wrong with his back leg. But so they let him outside onto the new courtyard so he could see theres nothing to be scared of and he acted all scared & sniffed around and then just left.

Just wondering if anyone knows how they can get their kitty back!!! This is the 2nd cat of theirs to do this. The first one, Gus, left because they brought Buddy home and Gus was mad and never came back. HELP!

If something is wrong with his leg, he could've been hit by a car, attacked by something, or caught in something...

They need to schedule a vet appt ASAP.

If he comes back, they need to take him to a vet, get his leg looked at, and get him MICROCHIPPED. That way, if he ever gets lost and picked up by the pound, it's very simple to find the owners.

My only suggestion is to put out food for him in a familiar spot every day until he comes back or they give up hope.

You can also try flyers or calling nearby animal shelters in case he is seen/gets picked up.

I agree with everything everyone is saying! Good luck, Sweetie!

He needs to have his leg looked at if something is wrong.

My two cats hate noise, like the vacuum or even Joe working outside with a power tool. It usually takes them a while to come back out from behind the couch, or their chosen hiding place for the day.

Buddy needs some extra TLC from his "mom and dad". I'm sure he'll be back to normal soon. But definately get that leg checked out.

My grandparents won't take him to the vet. They think cats can heal themselves. Buddy had a hurt paw one time and they wouldn't take him & then he was fine a week or so later. They think he is gone for good, he was acting all weird. Oh i donno, ill keep yall posted though if he comes back.
