Ok... so we are finally married, but as many of you know, with every happy ending, comes a story... here is ours...
I took Thursday off of work so I could go down and pick Joe up from his dad's, we hadn't seen each other all week, so it was going to be a nice treat to see each other for the little bit we could before I met my mom at 5pm to go with her. So we get down there and I pick him up from work and we go to his mom's to drop our youngest dog Mack off for babysitting, about ten minutes into it, a tornado siren goes off... and sure enough five minutes later there we are no power, and on the out skirts of a tornado. The tornado literally touched down about 3 blocks from her house,so we really were on the outskirts, everything was whirlwinding around and the rain was pouring down. After the storm had passes, his mom's tree had fallen straight into her yard, and I don't mean a mini tree either. It took us another 2 hours to make sure everyone was ok, including the rest of his family & friends and to get on the road. So about 4pm we headed home, only there were no traffic lights and the storm was right ahead of us all the way home. What would normally take a 30 minute drive took us 4 hours to accomplish, and that was only half way, my mom wound up picking up Joe's tux and meeting us halfway to pick me up (since we had to go drop my grandpa off at my aunts) and then Joe went home. He got back home around 10:30 that night, because of traffic and no lights. So Joe's response to this... if a little rain on your wedding day means good luck, then a tornado must mean something!!!
Ok so we finally get back to mom's around 11:30, grab something to eat and I still have to print our progams out, because we had not done that yet.. someone happen to erase the file I had at my mom's computer, and I had to start over and that took me till about 1 to get everything that we wanted on there. And then they would not print out right. It was horror trying to get them to print. Anyway, I think we finally went to bed around 5 and had to be up at 7.
So we get to the hair salon and they don't take credit cards, which happen to be somewhat of an issue since 2 of my girls had to use credit cards for their hair... great.. so we get that situated and I am getting my hair done, watchng the other girls get theirs done as well, all their hair's looking amazig.. but mine. Mine didn't look anything like what I wanted I was so unhappy and it was so terrible. The lady wound up taking it all down and re doing it, because I was so happy.
So time is going by whatever, and I got get my makeup on, I ask one of my girls to print out a place card for the kids favor (which were little stuffed animals that you could put a picture in, but I put (Kalli, Thank you for making our day special, Love Elly & Joe and a picture of two elephants with their trunks together.) well I am at my friends getting my makeup done. We call them at 1:45 and say we are ready, and they head over to pick us up, well they could not figure out how to align the picture with the wording, so they show up with a blank favor... My cousin is going to school infact she only has 1 semester left for computer technology and she can't figure out how to align the wording with the picture!! Oh i was so upset... i wound up having to write his name and everything in there and I felt so bad cuz it looked so bad compared to everyone else's.
So off to the hotel to get ready, everything was going good, we had to do some touchups on the girls' hairs because it was so humid outside their hair just dropped (luckily mine stayed). Around four we had to send my brother over to the hall to get the flowers for the girls, because that is where they were going to be delivered, and the girls were taking pictures at the hotel. Well he calls us and no boutainnaires were delivered and no ringlets for the flowergirls. So here I am hyper ventalating because not all my flowers were delivered and we are running late on top of everything. The photographer is already down stairs and I haven't even got my dress on yet, because I am trying to calm down about the flowers. So my mom and my MOH take on that task since they are already set to go and my sister helps me get into my dress as I am fixing my makeup from crying. FInally they florist delivers the boutainnairs and flower girl ringlets and we are set for pictures. The photographer was upset because we weren't ready to go on time, but oh well, it's my wedding not his.. whatever... we get our pictures taken and whatever and are waiting to go over to the hall.
Ok, all set once again we are doing good, get to the hall about 5:50 and go down to the bridal suite to wait for a few, do some touchups whatever, 6:00 rolls around I am ready, by now I am impatient and want to do this already... we sit.. 6:05 still waiting, so I send my MOH up to find out what is going on, no paster yet, I thought she was joking and Joe was playing a joke on me or soemthing.. but sure enough 6:15 no pastor, 6:20 no pastor, 6:30 still no pastor, I am getting upset, Joe is pissed, my brother is pissed and the groomsmen are getting pissed. So Kathy from the hall comes down and asks me what do I want to do, and I am like, well what do you do when your pastor don't show up. Luckily our DJ happened to be an ordained minister!! So my brother and my MOH (his wife) are talking to the DJ about doing the ceremony, nothing like we planned but at least we will be married. $100 and he will do it, so now we are waiting on the basic ceremony to come over via fax. 6:40 rolls around here come our original pastor!, Now Joe didn't want anything to do with him and told him to come see me, his guys were doing everything he could to old him back. So my brother takes on the pastor, and I guess the pastor was not only 45 minutes late, but he was also drunk!!! When asked why he was late he didn't have an excuse and when we told him that we didn't want him to the ceremony anymore he said "ok, whatever" and to top things off he didn't even bring our marriage certificate with him to the wedding. So my brother tells him he needs to go back to his office and get the marriage certificate and the money he owes us and come back here. My brother comes down to me to talk to me and is crying because he is so upset about this happening, and how everything was suppose to be perfect for his baby sis, and how it wasn't. So I am trying to calm him down. Finally there ceremony can now be started with out DJ ! LOL... everything is so weird, because everything that we rehearsed went down the drain since our pastor wasn't our pastor! Infact, noone even took my veil off, I had to do it myself. The candle was turned backward, so my mom was upset noone got to see the prayer on the front. The rose cermony was kind of awkward, because the DJ wasn't prepared for it... the whole ceremony was really messed up!
Finally we are married!!! And time for the party, I have to say everything went very well at the reception. The only thing I wasn't happy with was they made us cut the cake right away when we came into the hall. Noone really got to see our cake because it was cut right away... and the cake lady didn't even put our flowers on the cake like she was suppose to. Other then that everything was running late so our first dance wasn't done until 9:30 and we didn't have time to do everything we wanted to do. Every seemed to have a good time, we had 6 couples not show and Joe's granda and aunt didn't show because of the weather situation the night before. So all in all, after we got over all the boulders the night went good. The food was good, what I tasted anyway.. I barely ate anything and only drank two drinks all night.. but everyone else seemed to have a good time!
