oh ladies...I got the flu really bad...We got six days until the wedding and both Shawn and I have the FLU!!! It's both intestinal and a horrible cold all in one!!! I went yesterday morning for a hair trial and some last minute shopping and then all of a sudden it hit me like a ton of bricks!! I feel miserable...I'm light headed and dizzy and I can't get be too far away from the bathroom..Anyhow, I'm drinking tons of fluids, chicken broth, and tired to get a plain bagel down but it just didn't work! Anyone have any home remedies to try??? Unfortunately, somehow I gotta go to work tomorrow. If I don't I won't have any vacation time left to take off for our honeymoon!! Anyhow, if anyone has any advice on some home remedies I'll take them! I still have so much to do!!

Oh no! The best advice I can give is rest, rest, and more rest! But I know that's easier said than done with a wedding in 6 days!

Oh man, I'd go to the doctor and BEG!!! Don't let them fool you, they have some killer anti-nausea meds!!! They gave me some last time I had food poisoning, and it worked like a charm!!

I agree with Miranda...GO to the DR tomorrow and BEG! and rest all day today...everything will work out, at least it was not the day before your wedding!!!!
Did your son start school? He probably brought something home!!!
SO SORRY!!

I'm so sorry. I say dose up on Day-quil and Niquil a lot and get as much sleep as possible. I hope you both feel 100% by the wedding day.

Sorry to hear you are sick! Hope you guys feel better soon!
Like others have said, get as much rest as you can so your body can fight it off.
Theraflu works good too, tastes awful, but if you can get it down it works ;) But they have some new kind out now that may be better.

so sorry to hear you both are sick. at least it wasn't the day of the wedding. you should have time to get to feeling like your old selves again before the big day. as for home remedies? i wish i did. just lots of fluids, lots of sleep and rest. you might try some stale crackers and sprite. those usually do the trick for my family and you often times can keep them down. and in. lol

Unforunately, if you have the flu, there are no meds for you to take. The last time I had the flu the only thing the doc could give me was an antibiotic to fight the viral infection you usually get afterwards. I'm really sorry this is happening to you but like everyone else said, you need to rest. I really hope you feel better, the flu is the worst. Maybe this will help a little bit:
FluFACTS Information
Flu symptoms can be mild or severe — and if they’re mild can become severe without much notice. Be aware of your body and monitor your body temperature.
The common symptoms of the flu include:
Fever (usually high)
Headache
Muscle aches
Chills
Extreme tiredness
Dry cough
Runny nose may also occur but is more common in children than adults
Stomach symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, may also occur but are more common in children than adultsYou don’t need to experience all of these symptoms to have the flu. If you have one or two, it's recommended that you see your doctor. We've prepared a list of helpful questions to ask your doctor (http://www.flufacts.com/questions/) to help you make the most of your visit.
How to Tell the Difference Between a Cold and the Flu
The cold and flu are both respiratory illnesses, but they are caused by different types of viruses. Flu symptoms (http://www.flufacts.com/symptoms/) usually come on quickly (within 3-6 hours) and consist of a fever, body aches, dry cough, and extreme tiredness. Cold symptoms are less severe and people experience a stuffy nose, productive cough, slight tiredness, and limited body aches.

Yikes! At least you still have a few days, the flu doesn't typically last that long. Just try to relax and rest!

Thanks ladies for your help! I tried to rest as much as I could all day yesterday. I have been taking nyquil and dayquil for the cold and drinking lots of liquids. Hopefully I can knock this out of my system here pretty quickly!! Today mostly everything is in my sinus's and my stomach is better. Shawn's cold has mostly gone into his chest at this point. His cold started on Wednesday and it has been 5 days since his started and he's not better yet! I'm calling the doctor because I do think I have an ear infection so hopefully I can get some zithromax which is pretty fast acting. If anything I am going to beg for something like many of you said.. I know they give star atheletes good medicine to keep them going and I'm going to demand the same treatment!! LOL! I don't care what they give me as long as I can get some sleep and some relief! I hardly ever get sick but when I do I get it bad!! Thanks again ladies for all of your support!

Thank you I have been trying! I've been taking medicine regularly too! Right now I am convincing myself that I am not sick to help me feel better! LOL! I figure maybe if I do some mind over matter I'll get better faster!

OMG, what bad timing. I think this is a perfect time for people to really step it up and pitch in on every little thing they can. I REALLY hope you get well soon and try and take it easy....(easier said than done...right?) deligate, deligate, deligate.

oh sweetie no!! I hope you are feeling better. Most times those things only last a few days and at least it did not happen a day before your wedding. LOTS of rest, tea, sit in a steam bath if you can and just keep drinking and taking a multi vitamin. I hope you feel better real soon!
